Official Unofficial 2015 - 52 Sign Up Thread

Thanks Guys. Thats what i sort of hoped for! Going to wander about tonight with "Experiment" on me mind and back fill the others as and when i can :)
Welcome Mark

I will add you to the spreadsheet once you get your first photo on the photo's only thread

Ooops! Just realised about registration. Please add me in.

Hi folks... is it possible to join midway and yet not submit for the weeks missed... A few of you might remember I was involved in last years "52" but had to pull out during September due to work & school demands...
I have been soooooooo neglecting my 50D that I feel I should pamper it now on a weekly basis and get my photography mojo back in gear...

Please say its ok o_O;)

And the penalty for NOT catching up on the missed weeks is only 50 lashes, so a small price to pay for getting your mojo back ;)
Welcome back Colin.

Anybody there that can tick me right off? No, not like that - I mean tick me as having done Weeks 2 & 13 (Re-shoot) on the 52 Challenge spreadsheet.

DK is in charge of the Spreadsheet and he doesn't seem to be around at the moment. And neither does the Spreadsheet ... anyone got a link? The link I had was on a page that's moved.

Hi I'm new to the forum and to photography, may I join the 52 ? I like the idea of this and it's a way to give me ideas of photos to take.

Get in, Samuel, we always warmly welcome anyone wanting to get involved.

Feel free to start from week 27, or do any of the themes you like and then continue to submit the weekly themes.

Any queries/questions just ask

Cheers.

Welcome Sam. I joined late, Week 22 I think. Great motivator to get you out with the camera and thinking more about your shots. The constructive criticisms you receive are really helpful too.

Constructive criticism is what I'm looking for. I love to learn and explore. Read all the rules and I'm looking forward to getting going. I have limited kit, but will build on it soon. 18-55mm only

Hi Samuel ... I see you've got a D5300, same as me, excellent camera, as good as some of the more expensive Nikons but with less buttons which makes it more compact but more fiddly in some ways as there's more scrolling through the menus. A Nikon 35mm f1.8 is a must and dead cheap. I'm still learning but will try to help re camera functions if I can.

Hi ive just started and have read about the 53 and 365 projects. Am I too late to join?

Hi Laura. I'm sure you're going to enjoy the banter and fun of this group. Learn lots too and a great motivator. Welcome.

Thank you, i'm literally on week two of being a newby to cameras. I really hope this will help me to learn, what do I do to join in? Also is there an area to get supportive critique on images already taken. I'd love any tips to improve :)

You are not alone in being a newbie Laura. If anything, it's a distinct advantage as you will tend to be mentored, especially I would say in a forum like this with it's regular contributors whom you will get to know in relatively short time. Best way is to post up images - helpful that you've elected to allow for your images to be edited (a healthy sign that you want to learn). You can choose to catch-up on the missed themes (we are currently at Week 30) and get your pics up for critique that way. (I started at Week 22 and chose to start at the beginning and work through; got a lot of friendly advice in the process and posted more images that way too). You also have the option to post in the main Gallery and get advice that way.

That's great to know! I'm going to look later :) Thank you x

Ive found it thank you, I kind of feel I should start from the beginning or is that now allowed? Also how do I delete a thread I started one and I would like to delete it as I think I made myself look stupid :)

Well done Laura. You don't have to work sequentially through the weeks - just as and how you want really. This link is to the spreadsheet which @Dark Knight logs everyone's progress. It is he by the way that will add your name in.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ajgtQ6ncoBHH7qga8yvG8drBVSKeXWU-_0vY1_l_Fso/edit#gid=0.

I think only a Staff Member can delete unwanted entries. I have been known to use the Edit option on an entry of mine to replace the dodgy image or words with a "." and then press Save. Not sure whether I'm meant to do that but that is how I overcome some of my blunders (I'm be excommunicated now). I've just had a quick peek at your toy figure and other images you posted and some comments in a wedding photography thread - all looks fine to me.

Hi & welcome Laura

One or two "contestants" have started at the halfway stage - week 26 - you might want to do the same. ???

I think ... whether you start at week 26 or week 1, it's more fun for all concerned if you are, first & foremost, with us on the current week then posting earlier themes if & when.

Hi I have done my first image, week 26, animal. Where should I upload it? :)

Hi Laura. This page sets out what has to be done and the links to be used:

https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/t...o52-guide-to-threads-useful-links-etc.572935/

Follow the instructions in there but basically, you have to set up your own thread, titled as you wish - mine reads "Carl's 2015 Photo52 Challenge", post your image on there titling it say "Week 26 - Animal" and then go to the main T52 .... but no comments" page and post the image in there with a link back to your page. Sounds complicated and it took me a while to get the hang of it but if you follow the instructions ....

ok i must be mad - but count me in :) I will start on Friday and may even try to catch up with a few of the past weeks.

Being MAD is a must for the 52 Ruth... so you will fit right in :D

Good luck (y)

I know I was involved in the very first one way back when, but have been a little distracted with other things in the past few years - My job has been very restricting but I am waiting to start a new one so all good :)

thanks for the luck though I will need it...

Cool... you can teach us some stuff too then  :D

... not so difficult after all. :cautious:

Welcome Ruth. :)
