OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

..I said I wouldn't buy an Auto Focus film camera !!
But after chasing the Grandchildren around with my F2 it became obvious that my eyesight and manual focusing skill has deteriorated with the passing of time.

I've never used one before, but the F4 seems to be quite highly rated - although I think it's a very different beast from the previous F models.

Yours looks tidy - many of them look like they have had a lot of professional tog abuse :)

Very lucky, came from a friend. Hardly a mark on it. I feel a bit guilty parking it near to an F2, hope it (F2) doesn't get the hump.

Picked one of these up off the bay a few days ago. Can't test it out as my only Nikkon fitting lens is on my F301 at the moment which is mid-roll, oops.

Seems in pretty good condition, though, so I'd imagine it's all A OK! I bought it to try out a few of the functions which my 301 doesn't have and it was cheap!

You can take lenses off cameras mid-roll? The shutter prevents any fogging/exposure of the film.

I know, it's just a pain to start swapping and all that, I may as well finish the roll first otherwise I know I'll never finish it :D

I think I need a AF camera too just for grandchildren...but the digital guys have put the price up for AF lenses.

Yeah. I'm lucky enough to have the 50mm in the picture and 28-70 2.8 The Beast along with 70-200 VR1 I can use on it.

Great guy who gave up film photography some time ago has given me all this, time for some traditional photography I think!

Analogue Hardcore, lovely!

Great offer but my policy is not to sell anything I get given because that's just a bit rude ;) Secondly, I will use them :D :D :D

Id heard how big these were but actually using one is something else, its an absolute beast!

GAS strikes again:

Late model judging by the serial, bit of brassing on the bottom plate but that's all cool. I wanted a FM2n since it's lighter (it'll live alongside my Leica/Hexar for wide/tele shots) than my F3HP and last October the batteries in the F3 died in the cold so I was left with a heavy lump of brass in my bag for quite a while. Not as refined or as well built as my F3 or Leica, but that's to be expected.

Oh eye, its a big lump is a Kiev 60 but its got lots of nice Pentacon 6 glass, and some oddball Russian to boot.

Bloody hell that looks mint, do I want to know how much it was or will it make me wince?
It's pretty much mint. There's just a tiny scratch on the slide holder.
It was £175 which is only a bit more than a normal one in the same condition.

The matching body is for sale as well, which I'm definitely not buying.:nono:

Mmmmm shiny things

Very nice and a reasonable price for what looks like excellent condition. I have paid close for a non millenium back in tip top condition

£175  and it doesn't even take pictures, I'm outer touch with prices ;)

New film toy this week. First one since about 2005 when I got the now dead dynax 7.

It's a classic old minolta 7000 kindly donated to me by a TP member (Joxby). Another battery holder from Dave at camerarepairworkshop has got it fired up with film loaded and making noises like it is working ok. :D

Now if only the weather would stop being drizzle and piddling....

I've been given a little present for good work from my college. As I helped to set up the darkroom and got a few people into traditional photography my teacher gave me these saying 'they've been here for ages, no one will use them'

One box expired in march 2013 and has been opened (I'm scared someone who had no clue took the film out) and the other two are sealed and dated until march 2014.

I'ts been a great week for my traditional photography, first I get loads of paper now get these!

My F3 arrived today. What an incredible camera, just heavy enough, extremely smooth film advance, and a truly terrible low light shutter speed display mechanism

My gw690 has arrived, BL**dy massive, just loaded a roll of velvia 100 so some sample shots later in the week.

Nice one Andy. Did you get stung for any import taxes ?

Edit. Just seen your other post....

Enjoy, I really do love mine.

Picked up an Epson Coolscan IV from a lady in Milton Keynes who had no idea what it's worth. Was a complete gamble, also got a Canon 9000F (which was listed as definitely working) on the same evening... happy birthday me :)

Fuji GW690 on a brand new Manfrotto C£ H01 tripod which ways beggar all and folds down to nearly nothing, perfect combination to take to Canada I think.

Got an Olympus OM10 with 50mm Zuiko lens on Friday also with manual adaptor, flash and leather case for £55, its my first film camera since I was about 13 or 14 and its my first ever manual film camera.

I got it as I have been agonising over lens and gear I could not afford for too long and wanted to find a way to get over that and just get out and shoot so thought why not a 35mm camera, also I can pick up the odd lens for not too much to experiment with and gives me a reason to pop into charity shops and car boot sales :-)

Congratulations and welcome back to film!

Poundland sells rolls of AgfaPhoto Vista Plus 200 which makes for an excellent first roll through your OM10. There is a sticky with developers in the UK at the top of the Film & Conventional forum - you may also have a local supermarket that still offers film developing, worth having a look if you haven't already.

Got 5 rolls of Afga vista from poundland and a roll of black and white aswell, planning to use asda to develop my film, thanks for the advice anyway though, what is a good colour film btw that does not break the bank?

Also think I will get a tank and try stand developing soon so any recommendations on a second hand scanner for as cheap as possible for a quality one?
