OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Whoops, tripped up and bought an OM-30. I was in a call and didn't have much time to think but just bought it from ebay for a few quid delivered. Mirror is apparently stuck but I'm betting it just needs new batteries. Just hope its similar enough to the OM-10 that the wife doesn't notice.

Faux edit: Doesn't seem to get much love on ebay, only a couple of listings. Did it sell poorly originally or have I just bought a dog?!?

It finally arrived with a paramender, fine focussing screen, lens hood and 80mm lens all in beautiful condition.

Christmas come early Andy!....Enjoy!

Looks very nice Andy

That is lovely, no chance of convincing the missues that I actually already owned on of those though...

An absolute beauty, the 330 is a serious looking TLR that shouts out "I mean business!"

From the sublime of Andy's fantastic Mamiya C330 to the ridiculous of my latest arrival!

A +1 dioptre correction lens for my Nikon FE2

From a well known auction site for next to nothing.

Most importantly I can now read the display in my FE2:clap:

I know I am very sad to be so excited

Wow, that's stunning Andy. Thinking more and more about TLRs! They might be a very good way for me to get into MF - maybe something a little simpler than yours though :D

Andysnap is right. Get a YashMat. Super value, a great way into MF.

Hadn't every spare mat been purchased by various members of this forum.

 Although to be fair you are correct ;):D:D

Very nice, that Yashica flash looks like it has the presence of a Dom Jolly mobile phone:lol:

I did try for a while to achieve an angle where it didn't look so huge but it just wasn't happening. I've come to accept it :-)

What is the viewing screen like on a Yashmat? My only TLRs are a Rolleiflex Old Standard, a Japanese Kino 44 and a Lubitel 2. All are capable of great images but it can be frustrating trying to focus using the dim viewing screens on the Rollei and Kino...

Pretty decent, actually. They benefit from opening up (very easy) and blowing out some of the dust which inevitably settles on the screen and mirror, but otherwise it's surprisingly bright. Probably slightly brighter than a later Rolleicord (with slightly less falloff/dark corners), even.

Splendid! Thanks for the info. I'll be visiting some purveyors of vintage camera equipment tomorrow so hopefully there'll be a Yashmat I can take a look at.

Well I took delivery of a mint Bronica ETRSi yesterday. :-)
Was so gutted when I had to sell mine last year, but the funds were needed !

Now I can have fun again !! woooohooooo !

There wasn't...

I wish someone would buy the ETRS i put up for commission sale at Ffordes, could do with the money soon-ish :D

Oof, it seems Yashmats are very popular on the 'bay. Got my eye on an EM, or a 124-G if I get really lucky. *writes letters to Santa*

If I hadn't dropped mine and completely b*ggered it up it would have been in the classifieds next week.
I shall have to take it to bits and see if I can find out what needs fixing.

Thanks Andy - I'll have to bookmark that site! Purchases will have to wait until after Christmas - I've already got disapproving noises from the other half after buying a stuffed magpie :P

I've finally ordered a Plustek 8200i scanner as an early Christmas present for myself.. Due to arrive next week, then it's time to work through the hundreds of un scanned Sensia slides I've accumalated. Is a good thing I find scanning quite therapeutic!

Do post some results... I found my one roll of Sensia relatively easy to scan, compared to some of the other slide films! Sadly now it's pretty uch disappeared...

I will be sure to post up some results, I have a stock left in my fridge of about 20 process paid rolls. Dated 03-11 - but Im hoping they will be fine for a while yet.

The only scans I've had from my Sensia in the past have been on a V500 which is very hit and miss I've found.

OM30 Finally arrived, fresh batteries in it and the mirror dropped into place. Not sure about the focus assist, BUT the sensor in the shutter release works so when I touch it the meter comes on! I've missed that in the 10!

Need to get some more OM glass to go with it, sharing a single slightly fungusy 50mm and a fairly slow 28mm between two cameras is not ideal but at least now I can choose between two film types with out rushing to finish a spool.

Picked this little beauty up from the Post Office yesterday.

Apparently lens had 'a bit of dust in it' and the meter probably didn't work.

Well the dust was fungus on the inside of the rear lens group, I removed the group and washed in warm soapy water before drying on a towel on the radiator (gleams like new now, no trace of the fungus remains) and the meter just needed the correct battery (wein PX625) and the viewfinder to be opened. So all fully working now. Not bad for $50 plus shipping.

Good idea.

I have got to the stage where I have so many old cameras around the house that my wife hasn't a clue what I have got. So long as I can smuggle it into the house unseen I'm in the clear:):)
