OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Wow Nick a Nikkor 55mm f1.2 that really looks like a big bit of glass, be interesting to see the images off that.

... and there was me thinking, anyone would want that lot, except for the Nikkor lens of course!

Got a second 35mm bulk loader that has no winding handle, so I've gotta make one.
Wish I'd known it had some film in it, though I did manage to get some shots off it, despite leaving it bare in the living room over night... edges of the film are black as night, but the actual frames look ok.
No idea what the film is, mind, but it seems to work at 100, though I'm gonna give it a bash at 50 when I'm back off nights.

Also, new bulk roll arriving tomorrow, along with some c41 developer to have a bash with.

Just had these delivered:

Not much use now I guess :D but for me an interesting part of photographic history from the 1920's

They have been opened but unused.

A little bit of info about them here

So are these useable? Obviously the film will be a tad past its best but can you use the packs to load film in some of your cameras?

Well I don't possess a film pack adaptor for any of my plate cameras Nick so unless I come across one somewhere or look at making some sort of adaption, it's doubtful that i'll use these films/ packs.:(

Would be interesting to try the film in them though.....question would be how much allowance for deteriation of emulsion ....One full stop per decade is generally a good rule of thumb so based on their age.....Mmm NINE stops!!! :gag:

Blimey Nick, some crackers in there!

Thanks Jim, the Hassselblad is not quite as pretty close up but it's still a Hassy after all and I've wanted one for a very long time, it had to be repaired when I got it and it's still not perfect but it's now a worker.
I bought the Yashica not knowing if it was a 'worker' or not, it was listed with a few other camera related items but nothing specific. Not only was it absolutely mint it also came in a small brown suitcase with an Edixa with 2 lenses, a very nice working Weston V meter with case and invercone,
8203484925_9440304d61.jpg
[/IMG]
various booklets and instructions, an M42 bellows and this Kopil TTL meter
8203484827_6cd8da25b6.jpg
[/IMG]
that works by taking the lens you want to use and attaching the Kopil to it and measuring the light, more info here... http://www.jollinger.com/photo/meters/meters/kopil_ttl.html and there was also numerous other cable releases, flash cable and filters quite a nice little haul.

I have to thank Stu_the_flat for alerting me to this lens, Ffordes had the 55mm f1.2 on their website for a very reasonable price, I had put a post in the wanted section and he very generously pointed it out to me, top man

... and there was me thinking, anyone would want that lot, except for the Nikkor lens of course!

The 55mm f1.2 is by far and away the most beautiful piece of glass I own, it's spotless and the outoffocusblurryness (technical term) it produces is stunning, second only to the later 9 bladed 50mm f1.2 that is still available now, buy one if you can.

Of course Asha, I know where to send them ;)

First part of the Mamiya jigsaw.

Bloody lovely condition with rear caps and a fab leather case, £69......

Andy

Bargain, the world of the Mamiya TLR is a wonderful place.

Bessa R

and a new case for the Leica

Would love to possess either or both!! lol

Funnily i was out earlier today with a Zenit 3M in my hand and got asked if it was a Leica copy!

I like the lens barrell style on these cameras.....if ever i take the plunge it will be probably be limited to a Russian version!

Brilliant! It has to be done

I mentioned a Pentax MX and Tamron 28-50mm lens in post 3437, thread page 115. This is one of the first shots I've got back from the combination. No signs of light leaks in the Pentax, metering seems fine, and the zoom seems to be working OK!

A similar shot taken with my X10 made the front page of the local rag, with the headline "Mere today, gone tomorrow"; topical interest as the Council is considering re-flooding the Great Mere that once protected Kenilworth Castle.

Was poking around in the attic yesterday and came upon this....

P1000908.jpg

It's been hibernating in an old camera bag for 20+ years. Asides from the light seals needing replacement, it's pretty minty. Quite looking forward to getting some film through it.

What a great find...keep looking..

Well the Recesky arrived this morning:

Goodness knows when I'll have it built up ready to use...hopefully sooner than later! At least it has come with english instructions!!

As for a challenge with it, who wishes to get one started??......I don't mind sorting the thread if no one else wants to....some suggestions as to theme etc etc would be appreciated though from whoever wishes to take part.

Anyone else want/need time to pick one of these kits up to join in??

Got drawn into the local 2nd hand shop again on saturday ( the same shop i picked up the little polaroid from)

Had no intention of buying anything ( yeah right!:D)......but found myself coming out with this:

No 0 Brownie Camera.

Howcould i turn it down when I saw the exposed Kodak Gold 200 film inside......devd it already with some results of family holiday snapshots:thumbs:

Camera appears light tight and all mechanisms work fine!

Lovely! The original is the Gakkenflex which was from a Japanese magazine. Slightly smaller than the recesky.
I enjoyed building that so much that when these came out I bought around 5 of em in different colours! Takes lovely vignette pictures too!

My Recesky is on its way, somehow I couldn't convince myself I had enough cameras. One more's not going to hurt is it?

Bet they look kind of smart all lined up in different colours.

Have to confess I've only had chance to glance at the pieces ....it did make me feel a bit queer like a shock of "oh my what have i set myself up for!!" lol but i'm sure it will be easier than it appears.

lmao!!.....I just knew you wouldn't be able to resist!

This is the last one, honest :whistling:

Ha ha, yeah ok......that last little Brownie i picked up has been on the sideboard amongst a few other cameras for the past two days.....I expected my mrs to notice it and whine " enough is enough!!" but seems that now there is so much stuff knocking about that she no longer has a clue what is "new" .....I am however having a serious "no room left in the appartment" issue......can still squeeze a subminiature or two in though!! lol

Let the Recesky challenge begin!! Lol ;) I've not loaded mine yet but got plenty on Poundland Agfa vista plus!!

Bloody hell! Slow down it's going to take me ages to build the damn thing, it's a long time since model making was the highlight of my spare time

lol....building it's gunna be a challenge in itself for us both Nick.

Don't worry we'll allow "extra time" ......just for you!

( gives me some grace too!! lol)

For all those interested in a Recesky TLR challenge, there's a discussion thread here

Lol no no I've saved some for a rainy day! I've done 2 plus the original.

It's a lot easier than it seems! And should be a breeze for you's! Though the parts are kind of tiny so for men... It'll be funny :D Trickiest part is the spring btw!

Good luck and have fun! :) Post the result! (Now you've tempted me to build too!)

Oh dear, sounds like I've got to find my specs......just knew I'd cause myself grief taking this "kit" on board!:D

Seems like our interest in these kits has turned some people very greedy......I paid £9.50 + £1.99 for mine from this same seller:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170774346...l?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=170774346751&_rdc=1

Behaviour of people never surprises me but often makes me wanna puke!

Asha, I wonder where the two 11s came from ? Maybe EBay error !
Bought mine on the 17 th and paid £9.50 p/p free.
Suppose being in France he charged you extra for postage, strange considering being a few miles south of Edinburgh I am probably further from Jersey than you are.

Well I would like to believe that it is a genuine typo error ....wouldn't surprise me if it's not though.......If they are still £9.99 then i guess the seller may realise the price is listed incorrectly when his sales go down the pan! lol

The couple of quid extra p&p was no big deal especially as i'm right down the bottom of France.....made a change not to be stuffed more like £10 p&p!!

Do you fancy adding yourself to the Recesky TLR challenge??.......see here

EDIT....Just sent a message to the seller pointing out what i hope is an error on his part.....be interesting to see if it returns to a tenner tomorrow!

Apologies Asha, for some reason I thought you were on the north coast of
France not the south.
Once I have built the thing yes I would like to join in B/W only, don't do colour except in Digital !
Has been a few years now since I have even seen a plastic kit. Help may be needed.
