OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

robhooley167's post of the 7th July, I have just noticed, and no one else has - his Mamiya RB has a 'Canon' lens cap on the front of the Mamiya lens. It will not work, so send the Mamiya, not the Canon cap, to me and I will be able to use it.!!!!

Another load of stuff from a charity shop who were going to bit the lot... :cuckoo:

Minolta X 300 with a 50 f1.7, absolutely mint, worked fine after cleaning the leaked battery and putting some new ones in.

Loaded some sensia to give it a go!

Chinon CM-3, 28f2.8 135mm 2.8, 2x teleconvertor, flash and case.
Meter works fine with new batteries fitted.

My new Konica ARTC, First SLR where I have had to study the manual, I still haven't worked out if it's working yet!

Also have a Minolta X700 and 50mm f1.4 with winder grip on the way!

Will you lot stop buying stuff and showing it on here, I'm having an attack of GAS and I've got no money to spend....:bang::help:

Andy

And why do the charity shops I go in never have any blo*dy cameras except really shoddy point and shoots? :bonk:

Filter ring looks well tidy mate

I know, It looks like someone's had a go at it with one of those electric hacksaw dealies. I'll probably end up gluing a step up ring on it a la TBY's Holga!

Oh and I've figured out that it IS working, all in all a tenner well spent!

One near me binned them if they looked electronic(they cant sell electric good apparently?) or are 'too old' ,well they did until I came along!

I volunteered at the British Heart Foundation for about a year and they had a similar policy, but it was only for anything that had to be plugged into the mains, anything powered by a battery was fine. Most camera stuff they would send to the regional depot to be sold on ebay, at one point we got a hugh donation of film cameras of various types by one person and I had the job of sorting it... (It gave me a nice set of teleconverters and an M42 80 - 200mm for £5)

To be honest I think they are misinterpreting it I thought it was only mains connected items, they get a few quid for the stuff each time so they are happy!

I seem to have become known as "that guy who likes old cameras" among friends, relatives and workmates (and not unjustly), so people keep very kindly passing them my way if no longer used. Latest addition is a lovely Pentax ME Super with 50mm 1.7, 28mm 2.8, 80-200 f3.8 and a flash all in lovely condition courtesy of a kind uncle who needed to clear some space.

My latest toy - not arriving Mamiya 360 lens, outbid on ebay last night.

It has arrived! Excuse the shoddy phone pic, but I am seriously excited!!!! Cant wait to get all the other bits and get out and take some photos!

At the risk of being brought to task as being unhelpful, it may be better if you posted this in the 'Equipment' section rather than under the 'film and conventional' section.

Quite correct, EdBray, we do not want digital interlopers/infidels in here.!!

You bringing that little beauty with you on the London meet?

Might not be able to make the london meet now mate, got some uni work in for very soon after it... so attending might be too risky tbh. It's looking at around 25% likelihood of making it :(

Gah, another one without the stamina! ;) Would be great if you could attend though. Might give you a break from working...

My parents went to our "depot" where we store old stuff and such, and my mother found her grandfather's camera. MF Folder. Ansco Viking 4.5. Despite being about 70 years old, it has no scratches or anything! Just a bit of the black cover on the back that is peeling out, but I guess that's to be expected given it's age.

Now I have to get some 120 film and learn how to shoot without a meter :/

Hi Alan
The TC uses old 1.35v batteries, but I'm using 1.5v ones and it's only 1/2 stop out which I've adjusted on the asa dial and the 40mm lens is a top lens just a bit soft wide open...also the X-700 is excellent camera and the X-300 is nice as well that someone else bought.

Yes it came prefitted with alkalines and I did wonder what the metering would be like. I doubt I'll be using it much since I find the needle and scale really difficult to see although if I can get some more exotic lenses for it who knows.

Hmm, Metering 2 stops under compared to my Pentax MX!

lovely! My passion with photography started with an X700...my dads to precise. He still has it, so might need to pinch it :)

Definitely, definitely, definitely (probably) my last camera purchase for a while!
Came this morning, delivered at work. Quick test roll's looking good, it's drying now :) . No light leaks but the seals could do with replacing anyway.

Bit of a beast, aren't they!

My wife is doing her nut. After acquiring a Canon T90, then Canon A1; followed by a Nikon FM; I have now received a Canon EOS 30 this morning. It is in its original box, with tissue paper wrapped around it. The manual and strap are there, as is the paperwork, etc. Looks like it has never been used.I just replied, "Eeeh, dear, I thought you were the one who won the Euro Lottery last week." She did not like that either, as she is no pie eater, and weighs only 8-1/2 stones.:help:

Not actually new but just back from a full service with Miles and working like a dream.
