It looks a b****r to load! With all the faffing about loading it looks to need don't you risk scratches, kinks and fingerprints?

Well if your not careful then yes but compared to tray developing its a lot 'safer'
 
A recent addition. I've had those old screw mount lenses in the background sitting around for years. So I thought I should pick up a M42 body to go with them. The camera needed a CLA and now is in fine operating order. It came with that 50mm/1.4.

This is my first venture into the world of film and a step away from the comfort of my 7d. She arrived yesterday - I paid £40 off ebay body only but included the battery grip. Went for this model after a bit of resercha and wanted to be able to use my collection of EF lenses!

I brought the first roll of film I could find and finished the 24 exp off this afternoon - now to send it away somewhere (recommendations welcome) and wait to see the results

Lovely little EOS-30 - I've a definite soft spot for them :thumbs:

Balances really well with the 50mm 1.8 too ;)

I thought that looked familiar. My first proper camera was a Voigtlander Vito C that looked the same as that and came in a similar case. It cost £70 at the time. A quick google tells me that Balda, who I had never heard of, made the Vito C for Voigtlander. However, I don't remember the body being that textured and I don't think the door looked the same when closed.

Unfortunately something was wrong with the meter and even after being sent for repair the exposure was never right. I ended up exchanging it for a 2nd hand Canonet QL17.

I can remember at the time being tempted by a Lomo. They were sold for peanuts new then and were universally mocked but something about it appealed to me. How far ahead of the trendies I would have been had I bought it :lol:

Its a great feeling isn't it? Something to still look forward to when we get old and its the only tingle we can still get!

For processing and scanning to CD try Photo-express. Not used them myself yet but they have been recommended on here and some very good results shown. They will also give a 50p discount per film if you mention this Forum.http://www.photo-express.co.uk/digital.html
 
Glad you didn't, I only want to dev film so this lot was perfect especially at £13 inc postage.

I think I'd still be dancing around and hooting at the top of my lungs if someone gave me a £650.00 (fd) or £1100.00 (ef) lens!

thanks guys i was a bit lucky he used to work for canon and hes got a few lenses lying around lol

im going to go out tomorrow looking for something to shoot will get the pics on here for C+C

The Hexar is seriously fast and quiet - it kinda makes my Leica redundant as it has an amazing lens to boot. The Rolleiflex is the opposite - it's a slower way of working but it's my first foray into medium format - anyone got a 120 film spool kicking about that I can use as a take-up?

My first little foray into any kind of film cameras came about due to someone selling a bundle of 5 cameras on another non-camera forum I frequent... was a pretty cheap lot and a couple need some work but am already enjoying reading up on them and hope to sort some film and take some shots soon!

Regardless of whether they do work or even if I use them much I have to say just looking at them and handling them is delightful, they just look so cool!
 
There like new cosmeticaly, and a nice selection as well. 5 huh that won't last they breed faster than rabbits once you start. :D
 
Something a bit different for me.

I was given these two by a friend of mine

So I bought a couple of packs of Impossible PX.

The camera on the left has a "close up" option (basically moving a magnifying glass in front of the lens) so I tried that. Took my first ever Polaroid photograph.

Do you know what it is yet?

Clearly either the "close up" option or the photographer is a bit crap.

The pic was taken in my kitchen using artificial light (I don't know how to make the flash work) and is my Yashica 635 TLR. Honest!

Got to love this photography lark.

No, it's not wrong. What would be wrong, would be to have bought a Nikon D3 or Canon EOS-1d and it still take crap photo's. The Holgas cost peanuts - something like the cost of a couple of rolls of film to buy, and they're fun.
