OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

haven't forgoten it ! :(

will patiently wait for a bargain. although - a scanner is next in line.

The 28mm is very good, but I think my Canon FD is a bit sharper but stopped down it's sharp enough, as shown in previous posted shots:-

sorry - I meant hexanon. I believe hexar is the camera that goes for about 400 :) . just learning the konica ropes.

I just sold a 40mm hexagon on evilbay last night, would love to be there when the buyer opens up the parcel to find an fs-1 attached to the end as a lens cap ;)

That's a nice touch Richard, done similar myself before, but with music gear.

but who wants to shoot 35mm on a medium format anyway?

I know it's wrong and pointless but I do.

I've just got my 635 back from Ujjwal and I really want the 35mm kit, it makes no sense but I still want to try one :D

Today, I are mostly stroking my CL... now superbly dressed in the newly arrived Mr Zhou black leather monokini with red stitching...

But tomorrow, with the very nice Ektacolor just in, as well as the Yashica A that only needed a part fitted on the viewfinder to be perfect, I are mostly going to be shooting 6x6 :D

Leica looks good in the Leather Pants

Give us a heads up on what the Ektacolour is like, will you Arthur - I bought 2 packs but havent had chance to shoot any yet - and it's looking like I may not get to do so for a while now :(

The A-1 always looks a beast with a motor drive attached.

i just can't figure why I would need one, though
The motor drive is a different animal what you have is the power winder A2, this is the motor drive for the A1 http://www.mir.SPAM/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/shared/motordrivema/index.htm

Indeed the A1 motor drive takes a dozen AA batteries too! They do last ages though. As it happens I've just had a blonde moment with my A1 motor drive - picked it up with the battery insert not properly latched - the lot slid out of the drive and hit the floor - the battery carrier is missing a few contacts and springs now! :gag:

If anyone has a spare battery insert or a duff motor drive unit I'll happily take it off you for sensible money. :)

i've been gathering this little lot up over the last week or so

minolta dynax 40 (thank you ambermile, you have pm ;))
pentacon 70-210
optomax 35/2.8

i had to 'doctor' the 2 lenses a little to get them to work on my dslr. the screw thread on both was very deep and was rubbing on the little rotating piece on the shutter mechanism, causing a camera 'error message' to be shown and the shutter to not move correctly. i filled the thread on them down a bit and now they seem to be working as they should. i'm not sure if this is a specific problem with the a390, or more specifically MY a390, as i seem to be the only person having this problem.

looking forward to getting out with the slr this weekend now, weather permiting :)

i think i've got myself a bad habit developing with ebay, but i see i'm not alone in here with that lol

Sure is Ian - and quite nice it is too. The speeds are a bit iffy, but I think that's a simple case of re-tensioning. Apart from that - and a totally cruddy/scratched lens - it's fine. The case and lens cap I already had here :D

I also had a spare lens too so I swapped out the optics... soon be all go on the Zorki C front!

I thought it was, I have to admit I was tempted, but not having any decent glass to swap out the lens it had put me off, very cute camera though and nice engraving on the top plate.

Excuse the photo, taken on my phone:

Fully tested, in 100% working order (my thanks to Craig!). But damn, does this thing need a clean. Me and my dad are taking it on as a project - I'm going to be cleaning it up, making sure the light seals are okay, and there's no dust to be found, and he's going to repair some of the scratches and give it a new coat of paint. It'll be looking good as new in no time.

I got a black OM10 delivered a couple of days ago. Complete with manual adapter, winder and 50mm :) Hopefully going to get a chance to get a roll through it this weekend but.......

Awesome, make sure you start a project thread

Dunno about strictly being in the right place, but for me this represents over a year of waiting for UK stocks to arrive... It's a William Optics Binoviewer, two matched eyepieces, a small 1.6x barlow (tc) and last but not least, the oh-so-sexy 2" to 1.25" erect image 45 degree diagonal with BAK4 prism :D

Now all my telescopes are technically usable as binoculars!

I finally found, and could afford (!) a Bencini Comet III at last
woohoo.gif

Should be here tomorrow - and with a bit of madness/hacking/light engineering I reckon I can get a roll of 35mm film inside it :D

Pics when it gets here but don't hold your breath - I got to drive up to Castleford tomorrow to collect a trailer tent, and I don't even like rhubarb that much

I could have saved you a lot of searching Arthur;)

Pah - It's not fair when people do that :(

So the Comet III arrived... battered and looking sorry for itself (hey - only way I could afford one!) but it did have the original leather case, UV filter, BW (yellow) filter and lens cap so I cannot complain. Ripped it apart, scrubbed it up, re-assembled it and now I think it's ready to get some film in it. If I am lucky then the Rapid film cassettes from the Radix will be fine - if not then I'll have to make something up :D

Bought a Voigtlander VF101 off of Andysnap, which I recieved yesterday. What a cracking little camera. Its small but my god it weighs a ton!

That's a cracking looking camera, Italian design at its best.

I was so tempted by this, glad it's gone to a good home.

.

this is true, just a shame its F/8 and 1/50th or nothing :( Still, I figured out how to get some film in it, found out it's a half frame 127 - hence the two red windows in the back - and am waiting for some decent (non-wet) weather to give it a go.

OKidoki - pinched the spare 127 reel from the little Nettel Piccolette and managed to wind on half a roll of ISO200 (I figured it was crappy day, 1/50 @ f/8 on 200 would be about right :D ), figured out how much to wind the film to get to the next frame, and went out to shoot them.

Just before going out the door with big dog I realised I had not blocked off the two red viewing holes at the back of the camera - I may have a pile of poo when I develop later tonight :(

To make me feel better though, the mint FP-1 and equally mint Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.8 arrived (both boxed) so not a bad period... more "highs and lows"

See that 1/50th at f/8? A tad optimistic I feel... I struggled to get anything out of the film to be honest. Here's the best of it - and that includes the red window blobs too! Yes, I'll try again with a proper film though because despite this, the camera does work, does focus and is weirdly fun to use too :D

I've had a few new toys arrive this week... :D

First up a couple of Minolta's, a minty 600SI complete with grip and 35-70mm zoom. Also an 8000i body.

P1010481.jpg

Next up a rather minty Canon EOS RT, I've been after a nice one for some time now so very pleased with this one.

The best is yet to come though, just expecting one item hopefully in the post tomorrow and will pop that up too :love:

Well my days had highs and lows too!

This afternoon I finally managed to meet up with a chap who had sold me an OM2-n in July, (we've just never had the chance of meeting up any earlier). But it had benefited me very slightly indeed as whilst he had been waiting for me to pick the camera up he had found a whole load of great 80's Olympus literature! He used to work for Olympus making sure their medical equipment was upto the required standards when imported into the country!

BUT he had had the camera up for sale for £50 and I had been first to jump at it but had by private email told him I would pay him £100 as it was a far fairer price for the OM2n with 50mm and a Vivitar zoom than £50! So I ended up with a lovely camera two lenses a bell 2x converter, a load of remote cables and flash leads so all great for my collection.

Once I had paid him for that he then opened up a little suitcase on the table and proceeded to give me everything that was in that too!

Here are a few of the items!

5148998067_e6928e6347_z.jpg

Now I knew that the lens is a tasty little lens (Arthurs been looking at these I'm sure) But on checking EBay there is only one on there and its on over £300 with 31 bids on it!!!!

5149609082_c1be076acc_z.jpg

So that's the ups the down came when I got home and my neighbour gave me a very battered bubble envelope which I looked horrified at as soon as I saw it as I knew it was my Hoya 135mm lens which I had bought off ebay the other evening!!

It is scratched, dented, and now in dreadful shape, although it does all still work!

So this put a little downer on the day, which is a bit of a shame!

Right now I couldn't afford that lenscap! Pity about the lens but on the day I think you came out on top
