Official Fuji X-Pro 2 thread

Keep both. I really struggled with the 35 1.4 speed again today compared to my other setup but it does take a very nice pic when it eventually locks.

I'm still not convinced that there is enough of a speed difference between them. The 1.4 is definitely sharper.

Probably will keep both for a bit and see which one gets dusty :-)

No dude, don't listen to him, he doesn't even know what camera system he likes, Nikon, Leica, Fuji. Quality is worth waiting for ! Sell the F2 o_O

That's why I've been with nikon since day 1 and highly likely used more fujis than you and for longer.

I'm surprised, every review I've read says the f2 is way faster.

I doubt it, I've had many cameras, my first was a Zorki 4K, then a Zenit E, followed by a Fuji ST605 which i loved, but I traded it in for a Canon A1, best camera ever ! Due to financial circumstances at the time I sold it and a few years later bought a Nikon F90, then a D3000. I was never sold on Nikon, I found the build quality very lightweight. Eventually I went back to Canon, I bought a used 5D, fantastic camera.I then bought a Canon 5D2 , around this time I also bought a Fuji X10 for a travel camera. I sold the 5D2 on and bought the 5D3 and a 7D, by this stage I'd a good selection of L glass, but to be honest the 5D3 rarely saw the light of day, I'd bought a Fuji X pro 1 about a year after the release when it became affordable.I knew the Fuji output was good , using the X10. In the interim I bought a canon EOS M then M2, but I much preferred the Fuji. Sold the 7D and 5D3, bought the XT1 and more recently the X pro 2.
I still own the Canon 5D, Zorki 4K, Zenith E, the Nikon F90, Canon EOS M and M2, Fuji X Pro, XT1 and X Pro 2, I'm totally sold on the X camera concept, I still miss the 7D for rugby photography though.

OK, so you used fuji for a little while then ditched it then had a bunch of cameras then bought into fuji again, how is what you've done any different to me? It appears you don't know what system you like either. ;)

Just fuji I've had the xa1, xe1, xpro1, xt1, x100, x100s and x10. So a few.

LOL ok you got me, we are the same, charlatans one and all. I do like Fuji though

Sh!t I forgot my X100S which I sold to buy the X100T which I still have, it's my most used camera, its a fantastic piece of kit. Getting old sucks :wacky:

So do I, that's why I've just got myself another two. I've always said I thought it is the most complete mirrorless system for me. Nothing wrong with trying different cameras, it's part of the fun for me.

Think I know someone who can top that list

Got to play with the xpro2 today at the photography show, my what a lovely camera it is! I was very impressed with the iq from it, with an 18-135 (same as i have on my canon) I think it certainly matches it if not betters it, and that was in jpeg. So not totally sure which syetem I will end up with, but the fuji is certainly a contender.

Were they offering good discounts on their camera?

Can you give a quick appraisel of iq between the fuji 16mp cameras and the Sony 5100/6000 please
thanks

After this weekend I would give the edge to the Fuji in a few ways and not just IQ. I prefer the colour in RAW and JPG, theres just not much that needs fixing in post. Adobe also seems to be dealing with user complaints about processing of Fuji files but its still quite 'slow' vs my other cameras (yes my computer is very fast). On the flipside the A6000 AF had the edge but I know the Fuji 35 isnt fast to focus and the newer lenses are faster, A6000 video and tracking is also excellent.

They are both fantastic cameras though tbh. If I were you Id look at the system as a complete picture and also hold both....

What do you want to spend?
Do they offer the lenses you want?
Do you need video?
etc.

I've noticed the raw files I bring into LR6 look very washed out in comparison to those from my XT1. I was using LR5 with he XT1 and upgraded to LR6 so I could work with the X pro2 .RAF files. I'm still a complete novice with Lightroom so it may something I've done or not as the case may be. Anyone else notice this ?

Go to develop, camera profiles at the bottom, choose a preset. Job done.

Yeah I've been doing this, it's just on LR5 the raw files looked ok, now importing raw from xp2 the files look fine for a couple of seconds then the screen refreshes and the shot has a very washed out look, I never noticed this before.

To me, the F1.4 shots have better colour, or maybe it's just the subject ? The last shot seems to be suffering from the overblown reds I've read about in some XPro2 reviews ?

Has anyone else received their Pre-Order Offer Strap yet? I've not heard anything and thats been a couple of weeks now.
Got mine last week. I was earwigging a conversation on the Fuji stand at the NEC yesterday, and the guy who was actually sending them out said that all the straps had now been posted. They're coming by standard Royal Mail, so that could slow them down.

Received mine last week too, still haven't made my mind up if I should use it or keep it till my something happens to my current strap.

It's is a nice strap mind you!

Nice, but far too short to use.

I prefer the shorter strap, I quite often shorten mine and tension it on the neck to use as support when shooting at slower shutter speeds. Horses for courses as they say :)

I much prefer longer straps, I generally use 54inch Gordys. I can wear it bandolier style, safer and I find it easier to users camera that way.

How you finding the XP2?

No buyers remorse, which is always a good sign especially at the price point.
Much prefer the RF style over the X-T1 but I had already realised that when I switched back to the X-Pro1. And coming from the X-Pro1 to the 2 obviously makes the improvements that much more noticeable. Can't see me changing anytime soon (apart from lenses obviously, always need new lenses:oops: :$)

That 16mm looks quite nice......
