Official Fuji X-Pro 2 thread

I had one arrive today and it's also managed to reset itself a couple of hours after I'd set it up how I wanted.....one to keep an eye on but not the most auspicious start and I've not had it happen with any other digital camera.

Mine did it the once, so I changed a few settings and left it like that overnight. seemed ok this morning, so I've changed a load more and will see if they're still set when I get home later.
 
Yer, I found that thread and noticed Stephen had commented on it. Thumbs down to fuji tbh, using a volatile memory for settings, seems very 'old skool' and very strange tbh. But I suppose the memory retention draws so little current that once the battery is upto charge it would probably last a couple of years without resetting the settings.

I'm not a Canon user but I'm aware that Metabones do a FD to XF mount. Mobile-friendly - The FotodioX Canon EF Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Fujifilm X- Mount Cameras is also highly recommended.

Dude ! What are you trying to do to me ? I want to hear more about the resetting to factory settings and other GAS deflating problems, not how good it is !

Sorry, but it is really a good camera. Better than I was expecting, as I didn't really "get" the X-Pro1. So good, in fact, that I'm seriously considering selling my X-T1 as I suspect it'll become redundant.

Its already good enough that I think an eventual XT2 might make a nice combo with this... based on the IQ difference (and part of thats the extra 8MP) this can be my main camera.

Smaller, and I have a 3rd party grip on my T1. But it seems adequate, though I would like to try a larger one.

The build quality, and the joystick for controlling the focus point. But I'm not sure how they would fit that in a X-T body.

Yeah its smaller, previously there only was 1 size for the X-Pro 1 so I imagine it will be the same with this one, it seems fine though, I'll be interested to see what the balance is like when the 16mm turns up tomorrow!

I'm not sure theres just one, I just love the fact that it works as quickly and responsively as it does.. other than that the AF focus point nubbin is very nice to use and is great for scrolling through menus etc too.
 
Couple of quick shots from me just from very local... en-route to the pub!

A scene I'm sick of but at least it lets me compare different cameras/lenses on the same scene, almost my test lab!

I did notice that I'd left "add grain" on Strong for a few of these by mistake, also it seems it adds grain to the RAW files too, unlike the Film Sims which don't touch the RAW.

That's a far better view than I get on the way to my local! Good shots with plenty of detail.
 
Anyone have experience with vintage lenses on X bodies? I'd quite like to try some out if anyones got any recomendations.
 
Yeah I sometimes use an old Helios 44 f2 58mm on my X pro 1, it produces nice shots, the swirly booked effect is unique. I haven't used it in a while I must give it an airing today while the sun is shining.
 
The Oly Zuiko 100mm silvernose is excellent. As is the Pentax 50mm f1.7.
 
A couple taken today with the Helios 44 on X Pro 1, not much to look at ! It's bloody hard to nail focus (for me anyway) focus peaking isn't particularly easy to see especially with lens stopped down. It was a free lens so I can't complain.

I like the second one. Ultimate sharpness isn't always a priority, the soft focus effect with the lens is well suited to the subject here. I'd have a go with that for people portraits too, I bet you could get good results.
 
Yeah I think we've all been obsessing with a lens being bitingly sharp, but as you say sometimes a softer image is more appropriate .
