Hi all,

I have a wedding booking form with a table of the b&g's details (names, tels, venue, package etc...) that is set out on Word and currently write the details down and type them up when I get home. Now I have an iPad I'd prefer to use it at consultations to type it up there and then so I researched the best thing to use and Pages came back with the best reviews.

My problem is when I save the doc in iTunes and then open it on the iPad the tables are all skewed from the original version, the text is a different size (15 instead of 8) and it spreads to two pages instead of one.

I've saved it as a docx and a doc file on the mac to see if that made a difference but it doesn't, does anyone know if there is something I've missed or can recommend a program that doesn't have this hassle?

(Please no Apple Vs Android Vs Windows arguments etc please!!)

Thanks in advance

Iain

Have you considered something like Bento. It is a very easy to use system to capture structured data (I.e. what you described) and can be synchronised back.

Alternatively it doesn't have to be expensive to have an app developed to do what you want to do and exchange the information with your home machine.

And yes pages works as well :)

Contract maker pro.

You can input all the details during the consult, then they sign the contract on the screen.

You then email it to them as a PDF.

What I'm now working on is a process to pull the data from the PDF to use as a worksheet. I'm copying and pasting ATM but I want to set up an automated system.

Bento or Filemaker make this kind of thing really easy. Filemaker is particularly good for creating forms and for printing. You can add logos, etc and print images either linked to the database or in the database

If you want the data in a worksheet - it's there ready. If you want to invoice from it, no problem, pretty much any calculation you can do in Excel you can do in Filemaker. VAT, running totals, etc, all easy to do

You can email from Filemaker as well so you could link a customer's images by filename, select the ones you want with a checkbox, create & format a page with thumbnails and email it or create a PDF & email it
