As title says. I have the chance of either a D80 body (£280) with less than 2000 clicks or a D60 body with warranty left for £250 and under 200 clicks.

I own a Nikon 18-135mm so a decent lens. The problem is and I have researched this a lot. Although the D80 is a better photographers tool the D60 is supposed to be newer technology. E.G. the dust reduction etc. On my sold D40 I would only use the centre focus point. So will I get the D80 and the used price drops like a stone and I have an "old camera"

I then looked at the A200 (already mentioned in another thread) and it focused faster, felt great but the DPreview showed noise over the D60 above 400 ISO.

Arggghhh as others have said this is a nightmare lol

I haven't done a side by side comparison of the two but the D80 is a great solid camera. At £280 it's an absolute bargain. Don't worry about used prices in the future, as despite being it's successor the D90 is priced in a completely different bracket because it's new.

It doesn't matter if your camera is new or old, it's the functionality that you need to outgrow. There are plenty of people shooting with D2's producing amazing work.

I would definitely go for the D60 - don't even think about it!

(now can you put me in touch with whoever's selling the D80??? :D)

The D80 is by far the best camera out of your 3 mentioned. It's a whole level above the D60/A200. At £280 it's a bargain!

The D80 will still be a great camera in 5 years time;)

I still wish I had kept my D80 as a second body. its a great camera.
