Off to the park later today, with the kids and grand kids. Toying with taking the Fuji X10 or possibly the D3300 and 35 mm 1.8G. Fancy the X10 because of it's compactness, but veering towards the D3300 fast shooting. Certainly not taking both, something I would have done in the past. Will be taking a picnic, so loads of stuff to carry. Keep going back to the thought of the smaller X10...

The X10 is already fully charged, just charging up the battery for the D3300. Then I can make a decision nearer the time, got a few more hours yet :).

Or you could start thinking about what you're actually going to photograph and why instead of worrying about gear. They're both good cameras, so take whatever is most convenient. If you haven't planned any shots, then you can't plan which camera to take, so stop worrying about it :)

Butties all done and I have even managed to get a cake made. Just a flask of hot water and Coffee sachets, and small juice packs for the kids. Looks like I can manage to carry the D3300, with the 35mm 1.8 stuck on the end of it. I am ahead of time, I have even got time to come on here ;).

Decided to take the D3300 with the 35mm stuck on it. Got some great images of the family, and pretty good image quality they are too. Sat in the picnic area of the park, and only little niggle was the crop. Had to step back a pace or two to get the family in frame, but I was getting into other peoples seating area by then. But all in all, I am happy with the results.
