am off to Scotland on Saturday,am staying near Fort William but will be travelling all over after wildlife.Anyone got some tips on where to go to get some good wildlife photography and especially birds,would be most grateful for any info
 
The Rothiemurchus Estate at Aviemore is rather tasty Kaz :)
 
If possible nip over to the isle of skye for the sea eagle .. worth seeing even if you dont take any photos...

Just hope it isnt as bright as when we were there MD and Kaz will be ok :thumbs:
 
You should see deer in the Rannoch Moor area which you should be driving through on your way up to Fort William. Possibility of Otters on Skye as well.

Just keep a eye out at all times as its always surprising what and when you see wildlife up there.
 
Saw a gorgeous sea otter at Tobermory when we were waiting for the ferry back. There is a distillery by the pier and with the warm water coming from the distillery there are obviously quite a few shellfish there and little otter was happily tucking in :)
 
There are Reindeer at Aviemore as well. Not wild and free in the true sense, but roaming free-ish up on the hills.
 
Lucky you Kaz, pop along to Tomdoun for the stag, you can get real close to them. Have a great time too, I can't wait to go back.
 
A trip to Ardnamurchan? you can head over to Mull from there too.

Portuiark beach is gorgeous as well.
 
Plenty of deer on Rannock Moor, i was there over bank holiday weekend. If you want some landscape shots then Glencoe is also very nice!
 
Try Princess Street at closing time on a Saturday night plenty of wildlife photography to be had then...
 
Sea Eagle flew about 8ft above our tent when at Uig, Portree, Isle of Skye. Might be a bit too far from F.William but the Golden eagles were in abundance too and soared all day around the hills there. By far the best we have done on one of our three tours of the Highlands.

I second this one, or visa versa (which is what I did from Mull to Ardmanurchan).

OMG where does one start when it comes to Scotland, there are so many places.

I absolutely love the place (think it is heaven on earth!)

Yup, I'd second that Boat of Garten is a lovely place (famous for the breeding Osprey's), and not so far away Insch Marshes. Both have RSPB sites. Aviemore is a good base for that part of the world.

However, if you're heading a bit further west you could do worse than head for Red Point, nr gairloch and see what you find. An amazing coastline with lots of wildlife which I'm sure the locals could help you discover.
