hi all, i have just bought a microglobe lightsphere and stuck it on my 430ex, had a bit of a dabble yesterday and ended up getting the lights out before the model bu@@red off ! taking shots on the normal horizontal plane was fine, however, when shooting in the vertical plane, i got serious shadowing, i obviously need to use the flash/sphere off camera, what system would you advise or have i got this all wrong again

was the flash on the side of your camera when these shadows appeared?

i got a swivel flash bracket so when you turn the camera for a vertical shot you can move the flash back up to above the lens again.

hope that helps.

Stroll over to www.strobist.com and visit the lightning 101 guide.

No one explains it better :) Just don't expect to learn everything in 5 minutes, take your time, absorb and practice.

theres a right and wrong side to have the flash when shooting vertically to make the shadows less noticeable

this guy explains
