Off Camera Flash Help Please!!!

Okay, probably a simple one to most of you, but it's foxing me.

I have a Canon 7D and Santa has brought me a Nissin Di866 flashgun. It works a treat on the hotshoe and gives great results, however I want to set it up for off camera flash.

Can anyone direct me how to set up the camera and/or the flashgun for this, please? Instruction books for the camera and the flashgun not too helpful.

Any help gratefully appreciated!!!

Not sure if the flash gun supports off camera ETTL? You should be able to set the flash in Slave mode. Not having a 7D is a problem for me right enough but you should be able to set it as the master (there should be a setting so the flash on camera doesn't fire). Press the trigger and the OCF should fire.
 
That's the top of the range Nissin, which is both an E-TTL master controller and slave unit, as well as being a very powerful and capable gun.

The 7D's pop-up is also a master controller so set that to master and the Nissin to slave and you're good to go :thumbs:

You have all options open with that combo.
