Hi everyone,

I'm looking at getting an off camera flash cable for my 5D3 and would like some suggestions please.

I've been looking at the canon OC-E3 as it retains the ability to use the ETTL of my 430 EXII speedlite.

Is the extra cash worth it - or are there cheaper alternatives worth considering that do the same?

Kris. Ideally I would like a completely Wireless setup but I'm just trying to take the most economical route at the moment as I've just sold both my 7D and 5DII (plus some :)) to fund the 5D3!

I do miss the wireless flash capability of my 7D,but I'm unsure what kind of price that setup (bought seperately) would cost?

Just had a look (eventually :)) on my phone at the last link you sent and it looks rather interesting...
I take it that it's one for the hotshoe and the other plugs directly onto the speedlite to enable wireless connectivity?
How big are they roughly would you say?

Sorry, it seemed a bit cheeky.

Having both, I can't honestly think of a reason to choose a long cable (cat5 or not) over a 622.
 
As mentioned a few times above, the Yongnuo 622c's are great value ETTL triggers... I've got 4 and use them on a regular basis without any problems! Very easy to use and its nice that they run off standard AA batteries.

Another great thing about them is that they allow you to alter the power output and ratios of the flashes (aslong as they are the exII versions) via the in camera menu, no walking back and forth to the flash heads.
