Selling a lens on e-bay, also for sale in TP classifieds by the way. I have set no sales or postage or bids outside eu yet keep getting bids from a buyer based in China.

Price has gone silly with 2 days to go so have cancelled sale.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, but I'm not on the global shipping program. I just double checked.

I for one don’t like this new payment method being used by e.bay .. much preferred PayPal ,I will assume the scumbags have already been looking for a way to fiddle it ..

I.e last week Royal Mail took over a week to deliver a item, the buyer put in a not delivered claim , but it arrived a day later .

What did annoy me though was the demand I got from e.bay telling me to refund the buyer right away ,if I had done he would have had the goods f.o.c .and also the statement that they had frozen my payouts till it was sorted out .

Isn't there still the facility to turn off bids from various overseas locations? I usually select UK only when selling to avoid the postage issue, and reduce the risk of being scammed by someone who lives too far away for me to pay them a visit with a pickaxe handle!

Yes, I've done all that - double checked. A buyer based in China, as this one was, should not be able to bid.

The odd thing that caused me to look at the bidder was the fact that they had bid the price higher than i expect to sell for with 2 days of the auction left.

Something wasn't right.

I believe you can cancel their bid, or that certainly used to be an option. I think you'd probably be within your rights if you've stipulated no overseas bidders.

Yes, I think you can. Perhaps you can then block that individual?

Still shouldn't be happening though.
