Edit My Images
Yes
Went out taking pics with my son the other day. It was a last minute decision and it wasn't till I got there I realised my memory card was still in my computer at home. ( Yes, I know, I can hear you laughing from here :) )
Anyway, son has a ds1 and lent me his second card to use. My camera is only a few weeks old and has only reached the 400s in pictures taken but when I put my card back in the pics are coming out in the 99000s barring on the number sequence from his card rather than mine.

Not sure what to do........

regards
Graham

Try reformatting the card from
within the camera. Graham.

Not having much luck here. I have tried reformatting several times but it doesn't help, equally I cannot find a way to ret the numbering to where it needs to be. I can restart it from zero which I have done but it is going to be a problem when it hits a number that is still in lightroom. :) .
I am renaming the files on import to get round that problem but I cannot see a way for that to remember the sequence from import to import so that could become a problem as well.

The file numbering is arbitrary, I reset on every event I shoot. The shutter count and the file number are two different counts and not related to each other.. Your shutter count will be normal.

Try deleting all images except for one, and rename that file to the last number where you would like the camera to pick up at (using a computer). The camera should start with the next number in sequence.

Excellent, that worked a treat. Many thanks.
