As I think I mentionned in another thread, I recently had an order from Amazon duplicated - they sent me 2 of everything I had ordered. Being honest (and since returns are prepaid postage), I returned the extra items to Amazon, with a signed for label so they couldn't deny receiving the goods. :unnecessarysuspicion:
Today, I have received 2 batches of e-mails from them, the first telling me the goods had been received and the 2nd telling me that my account has been creditted with the full amount for the original order! Again, being the honest chap I am, I phoned them (or filled in the form for them to phone me) and spoke to a young lady and finally managed (I think) to get her to understand that I didn't want Amazon to think I had ripped them off for just over £50. Turns out (I think) that Amazon's policy in cases like this is to refund the original payment, so My CD alarm clock radio and 3 CDs appear to be gratis, free and for nothing! I'm not complaining, far from it but as a policy, it seems a little strange! I'm hoping it's the end of the matter (well, it will be when I spend what's in my account!) but at least I have assuaged my conscience and drawn their attention to the repayment. Should I get a bill from them in the future, I'll know what it's for. Ironically, in the meantime, I've placed another order with them and had I known about the refund, I could have used the credit to pay for it but hey, I can now look forward to £54 or so of free shopping.
