oct 27th....... a dark day!

Up to you mate, you will always hear horror stories. Take mine for example, when the guy cut through the second tube I lept up off the couch by about four foot. Would you like a little bit more anesthetic he asked :cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo: No I said carry on :gag:

They are not cutting them off , they are just being disconnected  , been there , done that

Nope, but we will all call you "Chrisy no balls" from now on!
Haha!

Joking aside mate, if you feel its the right call, its the right call.
I will one day be having the old Snippy snip snip, but i'm 26 and we havent decided if we want kids or not yet.

And if you are worried about being less of a man, then do one of the following:
-Take up hunting
-Become a drunk
-Buy a motorcycle even though you have never ridden one before
-Buy a flash sports car to make up for your lack of danglies
-Build up loads of muscle to impress young ladies

There are many other manly hobbies to choose from, the above is just a manly selection of man things!

when my dad had it done, he popped in to a pub for medicinal reasons :) and that was the advice he gave both my brother-in-laws when they went through the same thing

im having em cut off!!

im going to be half the man i was :(

but im gonna milk it for as long as i can!!

other than frozen peas anyone have any advice?

A quality razor to clear you scrotum of hair:D

Refrain from itching when it grows back. Hope you don't get knicked like one of mine did and end up with one the size of a grapefruit:lol:

No running or hopping for a few days and when you hand in the samples to check on your blank firing capabilities, don't look anyone in the eye - They know what you have been up too!

Its not that bad, aas long as you have had your fill of reproducing! Oh and don't think this means you will get more impromtu sex of the other half!:naughty:

Me, being the devout coward that I am, had general anaesthetic for mine. The surgeon, visiting me on the ward with the anaethetist in tow before the op, on learning I was having it done under general, said something along the lines "too bloody right. that's how I will be having mine done."

dont do it!!!!

i know a couple of friends who were forced into it by their other halves (imagine the headlines if a bloke bullied his missus into being sterilised!) and 3 years later their other halves decide they want another baby and blame their husbands because they cant!

DIVORCE!!!

I have no idea why anybody would want to have the snip. You're mental.

A snip is cheaper then child #4

But sill more expensive than many years of rubbers (the OP is married after all ;)), the extraction method or abstination.

Yeah, but bareback is more fun then rubbers

its nhs so its free, the reason im having it done is my wife had a bad time on both the previous pregnancys(yes we have twins) and cannot carry safely again and the op for her could be problematic health wise.

Advice? Go for the general anaesthetic. A brave man in pain is still a man unnecessarily in pain ;)

I had it done in January, and went for the general anesthetic. Was still sitting down like a pregnant woman for a week :D

Expensive? Cost me as much as it did to join here - and that was for the scalpelless option. Very little swelling, pain all gone after a week (easily controlled with paracetamol and/or ibuprofen) - the only problem has been itching after the shave! Normal service after a week, albeit now firing a weaker mixture. Never wanted kids and never will - Mrs Nod feels the same way, so the permanent solution is the right one (for us). Reversal isn't available on the health if you just want to have kids BUT, apparently, should you start to suffer from pain (which can happen even years after the op), you can get the reversal done to stop the pain.

And there goes another keyboard covered in coffee. :D:lol:

A friend's husband and their Dobermann were done within a couple of days of each other and we went over for dinner a few days later. The Dobe, complete with very swollen undercarriage, was residing on the couch with all four legs in the air and suddenly let out a loud groan, the husband commented, with great feeling in his voice "I know just how you feel mate but at least you don't have to wear trousers"

Mate of mine had it done and was in agony for days after it. Stuff that.

Snip, snip and Bob's your auntie.

Anaesthetic ?

You big girls blouse ! :D

had mine "done" (or is it undone) many years ago

after the op (general anaesthetic - I'm not mad!) male nurse visits to fit me with "support garment"
I was still feeling bit woozy from the anaesthetic - but the male nurse was as happy as larry taking measurements and ensuring that the garment "fitted me properly"
with hindsight I should have been more awake - but he did seem happy in his work!

No longer the snip - these days (if you're lucky!) it's done with cautery rather than cutting so it's the sizzle! They've even refined it from a few years ago when a mate had his done (privately, before the svalpelless option was available on the health) and he could smell barbecue... Now, they have a little vacuum pipe to extract the smell of burning flesh!

I had it done 15 years ago under local anaesthetic, I walked out straight after the op. No pain at all but I was black & blue for a week .

*Don't use a razor for the trim, use Inmac BUT very carefully :D

Anaesthetic ?

You big girls blouse ! :D

And proud of it :D

i csn remeber waking up with what looked like a garter belt round my waist, and my nuts in a string bag, like half a pound of sprouts.
very offputting.

I never bothered with the 'sprout bag'. Tried but it was just too uncomfortable. Pair of pre-getting-fat undies (so theyre tight) does just the job.

I wasn't in pain, more a dull ache mostly (after a couple of days anyway). Just felt really uncomfortable for about 2 weeks. Painfulish sitting down and crushin' em

You wimpy men! It's a much more involved and serious op for women, involving general anaesthetic and laparoscopy. I was back circuit training the following week :p

The last time I checked women didn't have vas deferens to be snipped, is there something you're not telling us..........

;)

No, but they do have Fallopian tubes, and they can only be accessed via the abdomen :p
