Oblong softbox for Nikon SB800 needed - where from ???

Would that really do the job? I doubt it, because I very much doubt whether the light would spread anywhere near far enough to light it evenly. A stofen would help a bit, but you'd still be pushing your luck.

The answer is more expensive not cheaper - one of these (or similar) hotshoe flash to S-fit adapters that takes up to 3 flashguns, 2 of which can be angled towards the ends of the softbox.

I know what you mean about the spread that was one of my concerns too - especially as a 4ft wide one. I'm looking to light the front of a car and wanted a 'wider' lightsource than a bare flash but without getting one 6ft wide !!! Any ideas GE, for speedlights at the mo ???

As an aside going forwards, what about a 2 light studio kit and battery power packs - I'm guessing Lencarta do those? What sort of costs?

Cheers

Dave,

The Safari would do it. The cost of a 2 head kit is about £890. And that will give you 10x the power of a speedlight too.

Yes, you're welcome to have a play with the one in my studio - just give me a ring

Dave, this is a done deal.
I managed to light four cars and the side of a building with a two head Safari setup

Lencarta Safari at about 1/2 output (Bear in mind, these were taken 21st February at 1710hrs. It was pretty much dark!)
Cars lit from camera left, pretty much in front of the white car and I had to use the extension lead for that head. 12 feet high using a 70cm white beauty dish (I think there was a sock in use too  ) angled directly at the cars.
Building was lit using a standard reflector about 12 feet high and I was stood alongside it for the first image.
