Thank you all. Reason for more in to O2 is the cost. I want to keep my phone with BT.
*cough*
Oh, no, it's not!

BaRoN30s said:fo what reason do you want to keep your phone with BT for.? they dont give you any more service than o2 & it costs you more. o2 now have my phone line & broadband & i dont even have an o2 mobile but i get the extra fiver off as you can use anyones o2 number so ive added my nieces o2 number & its dropped it by another fiver..
i pay just over £15 a month & thats for my phone line & completely unlimited net.. NO calls included but we never use the phone we use our mobiles so didnt go with any phone package with them...
bargain for 15 quid all in when with BT ya phone lines is near on that alone..

Sorry quick question, when you give a O2 number does it have to be registered at the same address?
terryuk said:no i just used my dads number
they txt the number a code and then you need to give it to 02

But they don't do fibre.... (which is why I left them...)If you're on an 'unbundled' exchange then they sell the BeThere LLU (O2 own BeThere) service. Been using them for the past 3 years and VERY pleased with them - have pulled down 300GB+ some months and not heard a peep from them.

as said NOPE you can use any number even if not under same name our address. im using one of my daughters friends mobile number to get the 5 quid discount without any issues at all. infact the woman on the other end of the phone at o2 told me i could do this..
just hope she sticks with o2 next year so i can keep gerrin the discount as im sticking with them for sure.
id call them.
it could be a line fault, it could be a result of testing the stability of the line, could be a faulty microfilter.
if its testing then you dont want to turn the router off or disconnect if you can help it so would be best to check first.
Kev may I ask why you have decided to use your own router when the one they send you out is way better than a dg834gt that must be years old.
the one they sent me was the one with twin antennas & twice the range than the older routers & has never let me down
give it ago see if your net holds out then..
