NWIOT.... Not Worth It's Own Thread

It means your neighbour doesn't like you
Hmmm well as I was about 100 miles from home when it happened, do you think they are stalking me? :(

I had a similar experience with SSE a couple of months ago when my two year contract was coming to an end. They sent me a letter telling me this and their price for a new contract, which meant that my monthly payments would increase from the current £80/month to £126/month.

I rang them thinking that they had made a mistake in their calculations and was told, in a very much take it or leave it manner, that it was correct. I did the same as you and I now have a contact with OVO at £69/month.

I've just made a complaint about OVO, joined in June and have not had any email asking for a meter readings, phone calls go back and forth and still nothing, now they refused to pay the warm front payment, I've just sent an email complaining about their whole set up. I'm phoning Which magazine tomorrow.

Apprently my account is stuck in the system,:( it sometimes happens. The manager is being contacted.

Its not OVO, its Scottish Power, they refused to pass my details over and they have to by the law but won't answer any emails sent to them by OVO, so now OVO have taken the case or situation higher and the whole thing carries on but they have given my Winter Warm payment which is paid in March 2018. Its reminds me why I left SP they are dreadful.

Well done Feltzy

For those that missed it, the silly girl spilt tea over the control panel this morning just as she was coming on air, at 5 am and "Shut down" Radio 2 for 20 minutes :D

Dock her wages for the cost of the repairs.

Did they wrap radio 2 in a towel and put it in the airing cupboard? :D

Yeah that'll probably be the 20 mins worth

They just played "recorded music" with the odd "we are having issues" type announcements, thrown in.
( I thought it was an improvement personally :D )

I rarely listen to R2 (I have DAB in my car so listen to R6Music) and try to avoid driving Mrs Nod's when either she or Tim Vine's brother are on. DM Radio at its worst!

I have DAB in my car
I have one in the van too, and tbh I just leave it on R2 for background. Rather than "Serious listening"

either she
You mean the blabbering idiot :D
Tim Vine's brother
Actually I don't mind Jeremy, some of the discussions are quite funny / entertaining.

I can't stand Steve Wright, luckily my day (mostly) is just about done, by the time he appears.
As for that "Paddy" bloke that sits in for JV occasionally WTF? :(

Yes, VF rather than Mrs Nod!

I do sometimes end up in the wrong car at the wrong time - luckily, I know where the OFF button is (far preferable to R1!!!) and it's usually only a 10 minute drive anyway.

And the Battle of the Somme reenactment society are practicing their dark art again tonight

Having decided to look into a water meter, with my local authority, it seems ( as I suspected) there is one already fitted, they did it when my neighbors had theirs done some time ago.
and a few minutes of live chat, it seems I'm on what they call their standard rip off charge.

A few more taps of the keyboard and they tell me what I would have been paying, had I "requested" a meter.
That'll be about half then!

WhyTF don't they tell you these things when they send the rest of the crap through the post?
Oh yeah silly me, for the same reason energy companies don't tell you the best tariff.

To be fair, I'm now switched over from midnight tonight, all the bank details are sorted, etc etc all for 10 minutes of "live chat"

Why is it, for some people that social media, has to be all about them?
( I could leave it there and you'd have to say "Why is that then? but I won't :D )

Two sisters ( just about in their 20's) that I am distantly related to, the younger one, spoilt brat always was, and I guess always will be ..
The elder one is a really nice person.

Younger one, now has a 5 year old, son. ( dad not on scene)
If he was old enough to grow a beard he'd be a "hipster" ( poor kid)

A picture appears on FB. the young lad, is holding a scan of a foetus.
No comments to go with the image.
Of course, everyone assumes that he is about to have a brother / sister.

A few posts later, It turns out that its the elder sisters scan.

Now, I am on both FB's and neither the elder sister or her O / H had mentioned the fact that she was pregnant.
One can only assume that she was trying to keep it quiet a little longer ( 3 months down, 6 to go)

You want to have a look at the "U Ok Hun?" facebook group. Great p*ss takes of these sort of types therein.

So here we have an expensive German car ...
Roundabout with traffic lights, 3 lanes and 3 exits. the middle lane actually widens to 2 lanes as you enter the roundabout.. ( the second exit is a dual carriageway)
Now, that doesn't actually take a lot of working out, which lane you need, or have I been misled over the years?
I'm in the left, German car in the middle lane, lights change and the German car decides he's turning left,

He never even used that yellow blinky thing that makes cars disappear if they are in their way!

I gave him a little happy toot, to congratulate him on his unconventional manoeuvre,
and he slams on his brakes..

When he decides that it OK to move again, its circa 20 mph in a 60 ( single carriageway)
And swerving from side to side of the road, shame there wasn't a lorry coming the other way tbh, still, I digress.
The next time he hits the brakes, I wave out the window and make a gesture towards the top center of the screen and the non-existent camera ( its an oblong sat nav receiver / ariel)

Next available turning he pulls in, as I go past he swings out ...
Now what's he up to I thought? but no, he must have got the message, he then followed me for the next few miles at a "Respectable distance" before he turned off...

Had the car washed today and turned iff the dashcam, forgot to trun it back on for the short trip home and almost got hit
by a stupid woman pulling out of the side if the road as I was non the estate :banghead:
Missed her by millimetres as I braked and moved over into the narrow amount of space I had, wonder if she would have been honest
or said I had swerved in and hit her
Just shows how the dashcam could have proved I was in the right

Insurance companies... Well there's a turn up for the books, after all the slagging off they get, and the don't worry we'll renew it for you, (If you are a lazy SOB and CBA to price check)
My house insurance is due early in the new year.
I received a letter from L&G ins.
Telling me when its due, and the price this time, not only that, if I want to renew I have to log in to their web site use the code and pay that way ...
As it happens its a fraction higher than last year, probably around the rate of inflation, And considering I had a small claim this year,
I though it was a good deal ..
They'll get my business next year.

BTW, anyone heard from Keith? (thread starter)

Hope he's OK.

The boot of the car keeps filling with water, and I ca't find where from. Not helped that we haven't had a dry day for ages, and when you open the boot lid all the water on it flows off and bounces off the rear screen into the boot, so you can't tell if the resultant spots are from the leak or from you opening the boot to see about the leak! I took the light clusters out and all seals are present and correct + no signs of leakage through them. Took the spoiler off the boot lid and added some sealant around the bolt holes. Can;t see any evidence of leaks but it's masked by the condensation that forms in the lid anyway from the lake that keeps forming in the spare wheel well. Starting to get irritating now! All the carpets and liners are in dry storage in the house!

A work mate has just tagged a couple of his mates in a post on Facebook. One bloke I know myself the other I know of from their photos but never knew his name. Turns out this bloke is a police officer, nothing wrong there, but I have just learnt his name. Isaac Hunt. How unfortunate, his parents never thought that one through, or did they?

Just taken the borrowadogs out for their last oee, howling a gale and torrential rain, makes me realise why I no longer have
my own dogs

New computers - I hate hate hate them! Especially when it's the desktop and the repository of all my files. Most of the day now and I still have most of the software to load. Putting it all back to my own known and loved settings will probably take weeks. Worst of all was that I tried to reload all my data files off one of the external hard drives and everything froze, resulting in a very deep breath, pulling the plug on the external drive and restarting the pc. Then having to do the transfer the long and hard way, one folder at a time. I suspect it was a speed incompatibility that caused the freeze, maybe the new pc trying to pull my image files off the external drive faster than it could push them. I just hope the same doesn't happen next time I run a back up (the same process in reverse). On the plus side I doubt I'm going to crash the thing while image processing for a very long time, which used to happen on the old pc that just couldn't crunch its bits fast enough. PaintShop is next on the list to install. Tomorrow.....................!

I stripped off the other half today (y)

I stripped the first half of the paper off the dining room walls yesterday :D

One of those "flat" blue coloured transit vans, with the red and yellow warning strips across the back doors, parked on the grass verge, with other cars, outside a line of houses.
You know the type the very thing that a builder / tradesman would use :)

Except this one had an extra, the speed camera option!
Now tell me they are "safety" cameras!

Yes I know the arguments, and no I wasn't speeding.
