Well here goes... Im a late starter, so mine is actually a Photo23 (starting at week 29).

Grace

The theme Grace immediately, like many, brought to mind images of Church and Religion. Rather than opting for something like a church though I decided to think about alternative religions and took this shot. Nothing complicated or inventive about it but just wanted to get the ball rolling :)

Welcome to the forum and the 52 Nico, both are good places to be, you will learn a lot around here.
I like your image for Grace, the muted colours work well with the subject. I think a rotation of the image would help, just so the water line sits horizontal. Good start all the same, I look forward to seeing more of your images. Iain

Its a nice photo I can't help feeling it would be more "balanced if the edge of the pond in the background was horizontal.

in the stones at the shallow end are a bit distracting.

Hope that helps

Stuart

Thanks guys. You are right and I really wish the background was horizontal. I thought the quirky angle was a good idea at the time but totally off it now. Loving this forum.

Welcome aboard!

That is a nice image that fits the theme and the muted colours work very well. If you get a chance to reshoot it I would not only get the bg horizontal but would try and take it from a slightly different angle to avoid the highlight in the bg which seems to poke out of the statue's head. I think as a subject it has a lot of potential - well spotted.

Don't forget to add your name to the list of 52-ers (?!) - ask Andy here

I like that, the odd, quirky angle I think adds to it. I do agree about the highlight above it's head though.

Welcome aboard Nico !!!!
Hope you enjoy it here.

I like the approach that you've taken with this one - almost like it's posed in the same way as a portrait shot.
I'm afraid that I'm not a fan of the sloping b/g either though. Definitely a great concept and one worth revisiting, but I'd far prefer a horizontal horizon.

p.s. If you include the theme of the week in your title, it'll stop it getting lost in amongst all the other posts.

Welcome aboard Nico. I have added your name to the list.

I have to agree with the others about the sloping background. Not sure how the statue will look if you straighten it though

Excellent idea for the theme.

Andy
