Morning All,

Just blowing my own trumpet really but I;ve had an e-mail from Redbubble telling me I've sold a mounted, framed print for which I will receive the mighty sum of £6

Blimey, dizzy heights or what?

Cheers

Andy

superb! It may not be big bucks but someone has BOUGHT your image and is keen to show it off in most likely their house. well done!

Can you shoow us what picture it was?

Well done on the sale.
I just hope the nayers to mircostock websites don't come in and trash this thread.
Although it's not huge amounts, I'm finding my sales via shutterstock.com are far better than redbubble and fotolia.

I would put money on it that they spent more than £6 on the print. your commission is a good couple of pints but they spent a lot more including the mount and frame:)
well done

Would have been more of a shock if it had been from redtube

nice to sell an image though

Apparently the picture was bought for £46 ish and i get 15%.

Andy

Congratulations Andy! It's great when someone is willing to pay for your work, no one can knock that :)

As above, does the image still belong to you?

what is this RedBubble? I dont want to hijack the thread and if you upload the photos are they still legally yours?

Yep, you retain copyright at all times. Its a nice site actually, good place to store images and with the chance to sell some stuff.

Andy

So you only get 15% off a Sale? Or is that because its mounted and framed?

You can set your own profit margin (I think), I just left mine at 15% as I didn't expect to sell anything.

Nice picture, I might buy one myself.

Congrats!

I'd be interested in doing this kind of thing myself. So can you upload the same pictures to Redbubble, shutterstock and fotolia? and are there any more i should know about? (sorry for the hijack)

Woohoo, now you are a professional photographer :)

Congratulations. I know its not the money but the knowledge that someone else likes it enough to actually pay to have it on their wall. Oh and its a nice image too.

I only use Redbubble at the mo so I don't know about the others but I wouldn't think there is a problem loading to multiple sites.

Thanks Cowasaki, maybe semi-professional at the moment ;)

First sales are always nice, I remember the thrill of selling my first painting, got more than £6 though :D

Thanks Artyman, it is a nice feeling, if only it happened more often, say 10 times a day

Andy

Congrats on the sale of the picture too

Congratulations - who cares how much it was, it's a compliment that someone wants to hang your art on their wall.

Pretty sure, I've had a read of the T&C's and it looks kosher.
