Now It's My Turn .... Blatant Infringement

Thank you Brian, much appreciated (however just to stress to anyone else reading this, that is NOT the feature I am referring to in this thread!).

The cat photograph involved a bit of experimentation as you can imagine, she was very boisterous and playful and the top of the stairway was her favourite spot. Unfortunately that area is also dingy with quite bad light at any time of the day. It does however have light walls and a light ceiling and white painted stairs. So to practice that shot I would recommend you simply bounce a speed light into the ceiling corner behind you (or to one side) and the light will scatter nicely and lift the exposure enough to get a good sharp photo. I needed good sharpness on the eyes and fur so shot that with a Leica Summilux, very fast and accurate autofocus on things which move. In small areas it can be easier to get an assistant to hold the speedlite off-camera (animals love knocking light stands over).
