To be A vegetarian is just a choice. Many eat meat from time to time or have done so in the past. It is not in the least irrational, or a fear of anything.

Those against vaccines are doing anything, and saying anything to avoid them. When the truth is that they have, for what ever reason, an irrational fear of them.

That includes some of those writing on this forum.
Not getting COVID vaccine or having one for that matter is also a choice for most people.

As per comment above, minority of people will be trypanophobics and some under 18 so thier parents decide for them probably

At least trypanophobics have some reason not to get vaccinated. I'd guess that very few antivaxxers are trypanophobic.
I suppose that could be an element of the problem, but not a big one. These people seem to have developed a new phobia. That is fairly specific. But very damaging for them.

surely not wanting the vaccine is a perfectly good reason for not having it - not wanting to be vaccinated does not mean you are an 'antivaxxer'

But surely if you choose not to be vaccinated you should accept any limitations that come with that decision ?

This was exactly the argument discussion I had with my wife yesterday. If you chose to do, or in this case, not to do something, then you (and only you) are responsible for the consequences. He has a right not to take the vaccine, but Australia, and other countries, have a right to decide whether that is a safe way of protecting their country. Likewise, even if it wasn't mandated by the government, shop owners have the right not to allow unmasked people into their stores.

The problem is, in today's society, too many people are only interested in themselves and not the rights of others.

Yes exactly even though I believe that having the vaccination is the right thing to do it should be voluntary but if someone chooses not to have it they can’t complain if there are restrictions on going into crowded places

We always have been.

Humans are, inherently, selfish creatures. That's why we have many laws, so much training, to keep that selfishness within bounds. The observation that all this effort so often fails is just one of those things we have to deal with. :(

Djokovic stated that he was 'opposed to vaccination' early in the pandemic, long before any Covid vaccines were actually available, and preferred the idea that we can 'empower our metabolism' to fight the virus. He appears to be an antivaxer from the less rabid end of the spectrum, though his wife has amplified 5G conspiracy theories. Djokovic has expressed beliefs in New Age woo and medical pseudoscience, claiming that water can be purified by the power of the mind, stating that merely holding a piece of bread makes him weaker (apparently evidence of gluten intolerance), and implying that telepathy and telekinesis exist. People who hold such beliefs don't always like the 'antivax' label that puts them in the same category as Piers Corbyn, but this goes well beyond the sort of 'vaccine hesitancy' that might be overcome by education about the relative risks of the disease and the vaccine.

Nothing wrong with haggis!
I agree, bought one on Sunday, but not so sure a vegetarian would agree with you.

One of the Macsweens ones from the supermarket, but tasty enough.
Still not sure how you can have a vegetarian haggis, beggars belief really.

Never going to agree Savs are ok though.

Apparently I am a trypanophobic, but there are times when you have fight your fear, I may go to the dentist and have a filling without a jag, but getting another knee operation, I’ll just grit my teeth and look the other way as they admitted what they need to.

Good grief, with the amount of blood taken from me in the last 20 years, if I was trypanophobic I would be in a padded cell by now....

Nothing against meat or haggis, just wish some people would be more responsible with it.
As far as I am concerned a little meat goes a long way. But I would not give it up altogether. I am too much the omnivore.

I don't think any one will be giving it up and certainly not my expectation. Consuming it responsibly is all I'd expect.

I have been vegetarian since birth so I continue be one.

I don't like needles myself but have several tattoos and have annual flu jabs as well as being as topped up as possible against C-19.

Mrs Nod (vegetarian) is better at handling raw meat than me (meat eater)!

But he has missed every shot so far...

Not a good way for him to build up trust even if COVID went away.

Dave

Looks like he lied about when he was tested. and or he might have been provided with some ones else's result to submit. But that would require collusion.
but not out of the question.

And one of his main sponsors is a watch company Hublot (who earlier in the week confirmed that they are continuing to back him) - maybe they now need to review that since he appears he can't actually tell the time.

Here's hoping Nadal wiins the Australian Open and takes the most Gram Slam victories a little further out of reach.

Remind me not to buy or recommend Hublot watches, Not that I have heard of them.

When I imagine buying a watch that costs as much as a car, I'll definitely imagine buying Federer's Rolex rather than Djokovic's Hublot. I probably won't imagine buying Nadal's Richard Mille because I'm not an oligarch and would rather imagine spending that imaginary $1M on a house or something.

Best get your name down now, apparantly the waiting list is getting bigger, you may need to spend money on a couple of watches you don't want to get on the first page though, imagine camera dealers doing the same?

Agree 100% on Nadal.

Will a couple of the $100k cheapies do, or do you need to prove you are serious with the $500k models?

I bet Leica could get away with this strategy - 'I'm sorry, but we're restricting supplies of the M12 to customers who have purchased the full set of APO Summicrons ...'

Incidentally, when I first saw Nadal wearing a brightly coloured Mille on court, I genuinely thought he'd been sponsored by some mass market sports watch company. An article about these insanely priced baubles soon disabused me of this notion.

I thought his watches were Casio G-shocks.
