No he didn’t. He falsely declared his whereabouts in the time leading up to his landing in Australia.

Yes, it all went to court and the judge ruled that he should be released due to procedural errors.

Further information has since been released about the so called medical exemption.

Yes, he's out now because the govt minister decided to make his own decision and over rule the court verdict as he's allowed to but it seems to be a political decision based on his anti vaccine opinions not one based on any science.

And that's not my opinion, it's what I got from the Beeb and is now being reported on other news outlets.

it seems very wrong that a person's view on the vaccine should have any effect on their visa application as there is no requirement to have any specific 'approved' view on the vaccine

You seem to completely ignore that his application to enter Australia included false information.
Of course he claims it was an error.
He would wouldn’t he.
Notice I am not even referring to his questions views on vaccines.
His application to enter Australia was what led to this.

You keep whining about what the media reported. That screenshot that I posted about his false entry application was from Sky News. That is part of the media. For some reason you’ve got your hooks into this, but the fact is, his erroneous/dishonest whereabouts statement was his downfall.
 
With Novak's previous errors maybe he asked Boris for advice on getting out of a sticky situation

No, but there is a requirement to be truthful, which he was not.

I agree that the cancellation of his visa would have been better done based on not meeting the criteria rather than the grounds of public interest, but I am sure that the reasons behind the unanimous decisions of the three judges will be made public in due course. Alex Hawke has made his decision based on information available to him from different sources and is the spokesman for Australian Immigration.

Australia have not been bending the rules for anyone during this pandemic. Which is much fairer than how it works in the UK.or USA.

With members of government doing what ever they like.

It will be interesting to see what happens at Wimbledon this year if we are in lock down.
 
My entry to Singapore in November consists of.

1 - Fully vaccinated (2 shots at that time)
2 - 3 Day Prior Health Declaration form printed and sign
3 - Pre-Departure negative PCR Test
4 - Travel Insurance with Covid Cover
5 - VTL Pass (apply online with vaccinated QR code)
6 - Travel via Vaccinated Travel Lanes from approved list of countries
7 - Vaccine Passport App showing 2 dose of either (AZ, Pf/ Mod vaccines)
8 - Arrival PCR Test (and get a negative)
9 - Staying in a approved hotel

Those are the conditions, if I didn't have Step 1 I couldn't do anything else.

If in at any point I lied on my application I would be rejected.

You don’t lie to border control, ever. The consequences is clear. If you made a mistake, tough, better not make a mistake NEXT time.
 
It is speculation but will Novak be able to play in any other Major tournaments. He is very unpopular in the USA because of his selfish attitude and it seem unlikely that he would be invited to enter France with their strict rules. Will he even be invited to Wimbledon? I am sure some of the sponsors will be unhappy about the controversy which comes with Novak. If he wishes to avoid vaccinations and isolate himself from the rest of the World, fine but If he wishes to mix with others he will have to be vaccinated. Hopefully, in a few years time this will all be over and he can play again. I am a tennis player and would not play him though I doubt that he would want to play me either.;):D

He will conveniently catch covid 1 month before every tournament to get an exemption.

I haven't followed his entire story (got better things to do like following the losing Ashes) but from I have seen in the news he's lied to immigration department and I guess they found out so the result is hardly surprising. He also seems to have been anti-vax in social media at times which Australia doesn't like.

Then you have the Serbian community who didn't seem to mind being out on the streets with their flags and banners.
That was also likely to end up in agro, few other ethnic groups already have an axe to grind with that country.

Would it have been worth it, the Australian government decided it wasn't.
At least their PM showed some leadership and rule enforcement, unlike ours who just wants to attend a p*** up.

The one point they really nailed him on was "not having traveled in the 14 days prior to entry" when it's clear he did. That lie alone would have got hime rejected, let alone the convenient case of covid a month before.
 
It really is very simple, he lied to border control, there is no need for any other reason or debate. Lie to border control and you are out.

To be A vegetarian is just a choice. Many eat meat from time to time or have done so in the past. It is not in the least irrational, or a fear of anything.

Those against vaccines are doing anything, and saying anything to avoid them. When the truth is that they have, for what ever reason, an irrational fear of them.

That includes some of those writing on this forum.
 
At least trypanophobics have some reason not to get vaccinated. I'd guess that very few antivaxxers are trypanophobic.
