Not so special delivery

Can't say I'm that surprised. My experiences of some sorting offices have left me never really trusting most delivery services.

Ouch! That was careless.

Kinda made the Royal Mail look professional in comparison now! :D

Whose been a silly boy and I guess lost his job

Realspeed

The wonders of CCTV.. and they want to get rid of them.
Just proves there usefullness.

Ex Dispatcher..

As far as I am concerned, there is only one service worth a damn and that is RMSD!
I send everything that way now and just 'bite the cost' as I know stuff is likely to arrive!:woot:

At least he got the proper address. If it was Parcelfarce it could have been delivered miles away.

Thats nothing when royal mail deliver parcels to my house. He uses 1 of 3 options.

1. Leaves the parcel on the doopstep and walks off.
2. Knocks the door and runs off whilst dropping parcel in progress
3. Knocks next door saying "No one is home" but gets a shock when we open and the door and say he never knocked the door.

He does it cause he "Claims" my rottweiler and staff have attacked him before. The only thing they attack is the letter box from the inside or next doors ginger cat Haha!

I took a day off work as I was expecting a delivery. I checked the progress online and was surprised to find that delivery was attempted at 14.05 and nobody was in. At that time I was standing at the front door talking to a neighbour and neither of us saw a parcelfarce van or anyone "attempt" a delivery.

I eventually found out from the supplier that the package had been left at the local post office 100 yards from my house. When I collected it I asked when it had been left there and was told "about half past ten."

Like so?

A bit off topic but kinda on topic

If you have something sent recorded and it has one of those orange stickers on the package saying 'signed for' am I supposed to sign something the postman has or does he scan it as he chucks it through the letter box? I've had a few parcels this weeks and he's just put 'em through letter box every time thats all

Clues in the title, they should be signed for unless you have specified to leave in a secure place or with a neighbour.

true...any untowards reciever of said parcel could just deny they recieved it. Postie has no arguement if he didnt get a signature.

Thought that was the case, at least he's not leaving them in the coal bunker now to get **** wet through!

We used to get loads of 'we've attempted delivery but nobody was in' type cards even if were here, driver clearly hasn't got the item on the van so puts a card through with the normal mail as if he's tried to deliver, chased him to his van once with the card in my hand and left him red faced (embarrassment not blood) lol, he hasn't done it since.

done that myself, but the postie had left it in his van at the other end of the street and obviously couldn't be bothered carrying it....never did it again after I collared him for it

The OP has reminded me of a local news story the other week. It was about all the temporary staff RM had taken on to help over the christmas period. Even while the reported was stood behind them giving the report the workers where still throwing all the packages into different stillages. Then at the end a RM rep had the cheek to say people weren't wrapping thier parcels good enough so they were rewrapping alot of parcels! :bang:

I only send RMSD, im sure he tries to get me up as early as possible! get some stuff at about 6.30 on some days. dont mind it though!

couriers are useless, RM SD on the other hand never had any bother with. but that is a separate division to normal RM if i remember rightly.

No it's not.

Just to balance all of this out, I have to say that I have an absolutely fantastic postie. Snipped from Secret Santa thread :

Only bills through the door when he did his round at 8:00 this morning - I wasn't worried because sometimes parcels that won't fit through the door come round later on the van.
Then there was a van around at about 10 o'clock - no luck though. He was only delivering to next door.
10 minutes ago, there was a knock on the door and it was my regular postie back again. He'd found my parcel at the bottom of his bag when he finished his rounds and he'd made a special trip back just to deliver it. Santa you have a very good helper there :)
About to have a look on Royal Mail's website to see if they have anywhere to leave feedback.

Just a shame that the sorting office down here can't take a leaf from his book :shake:
