Hi, Need a bit of advice please.
I purchased a genuine Adobe CS4 through upgrade from another photographer it contains PS 6.0, PS CS and CS4. Works fine even updated when Adobe supported CS4.
When I purchased and we tried to transfer the licence across because the other party could not find his original receipt Adobe spat the dummy out and refused to pass ownership across to me even though we filled out all the necessary paper work, ( the other person had even purchased CS5 from Adobe) that is why he sold me the CS4 collection.
Anyway as the CS4 I have is not registered to me am I still able to upgrade to CS5 as I have all the legal serial numbers and software discs?
Many Thanks
Russ

I would have thought that you were unable to transfer the licence because it had already been used to upgrade to CS5, and I would expect that another upgrade from the same licence would not be possible, (not certain mind you, just my take on the situation), otherwise this could carry on indefinitely you upgrade and sell old version on, next person does the same etc, etc, etc. Just can't see Adobe doing it.

Thanks for the reply but I believe he purchased the full version of CS5, as if he upgraded then sold on his CS4 and for some reason needed to maybe format computer he would not have the CS4 serials etc to upgrade from.
Thanks Again

If the original user deactivated the install on his machine, then yes you should be able to put it on yours, but if he just left the install and over wrote it you may have a problem as it wont be logged on the adobe servers as deactivated. You may then have to call adobe so they can reactivate your software.
