You have my sympathies, (I know you weren't after them, but you got them:) ) That is a lot of tablets, didn't get all those when I slipped a disc in my back! :(

I've been an Insulin dependant diabetic for 27 years and have got more holes in me than a box of teabags.

One of these days the holes will all join up & my mum will have to knit me back together :D

Thank you, I have to be very careful, (except today when I was fitting carpet :bonk:) Will behave again now!

Is there anything you can do to improve?

a sense of humour is the best medicine:), for anything, but sometimes it good to share things, get it down on paper, yea whats the saying, my DR said "we are killing you slowly", cruel to be kind ???

Nothing, no operation to near spinal column, nerves are not able to repair them selves, it's like having a time bomb in your back, pins and needles down both legs, no reflexes in right knee, none in feet, hands clamped in mornings,+ all other joints, unable to walk more than 30 yards,

Be carefull and don't over do it, stay well

Regards Mark.

That's really not good, I'm sorry to hear that,

Take care,

I do understand some of the pain level that you are suffering
I ripped all ( well most anyway) the nerves from my left shoulder over 25 years ago,
I have now have limited movement in my left arm and still get a lot of pain from time to time.
even the strongest pain killers were of no use, eventually. ( morphine wasn't an option)
The only thing that gave me some relief ( and still does) was "Tiger Balm" A "rub on" to the affected area
just a small amount at anyone time or it will sting!
If you decide to give it a go you want the "red" ( stronger) not the "white"
Some chemists sell it as do some "health food type shops"

Reminds me of my dear old dad. 2 injections a day min for 33 years-thats nearly 25000 injections WOW.

I would refrain from taking tablets from the doctor-unless absolutely neccesary. Like pain and stuff-they are just pill hustlers.

Good statment :canon:
or did i miss something there :cuckoo::suspect:

Never took tables for a headache...but this pain even i gave in it helps me get through the night and day.

it's surprising how much the body can take,

Regards Mark,

Jeez, that's tough. I have MS and take a lot less than that!

the mother in-law has MS she uses a lot of self help holistic and therapeutic methods, she has a ipod and has downloaded loads, mind over matter audio books, and we have photography to help us through the day.

Regards mark.

Sounds like my other half's list, she was diagnosed with RA a couple of years ago, only 27 at the time. She's tried most all the strong prescription pain killers and none of them really had much effect

I was getting morphine etc. when i had my knee surgery. 6 tablets of varying medicines a day for 4 months, it drove me mad after a while beacuse they were making me feel as bad as the pain from my knee. I have got a lot of respect for you for putting up with this mate, just remember to be positive, as i think a positive outlook allways helps things get better quicker:thumbs:

Oh my, you poor thing  I had the joys of tramadol, diazepam and diclofenac fairly recently when I managed to do my back in. Tramadol just turned me into a zombie and I had to stop taking them as they were making me ill. Luckily, I'm almost back to normal and just returned to work today (went off sick mid June). I did see an osteopath who was wonderful - the pain relief was immense.
Hope you start to feel better soon.

I have no idea if its like "firey jack" but going on the name I guess it might be :D
I don't take tablets for headaches either just a "dab & rub" from the tiger balm and all sorted,
but if you try this f'crissakes keep it well away from your eyes and /or any delicate / broken skin
Good luck Mark

Tiger balm is like very strong menthol type stuff - makes your eyes water if you breathe the fumes

I hope your pain does decrease - have you tried cod liver oil for your joints? I'm not saying it will magically make it better but I do know some people who take it every day and it helps a little.

I'm the same after just 3 years
type 1 I assume?

hi all this is definitely the best medicine, and it's good to know your not alone, my tablets have been upped since that post, but hey ho thats life. glad to see all our daily pain sufferers are OK, My course starts next week the Adobe one, they have already been on the phone organising my access for my chair, i am really excited so will report back in the correct topic section.

Regards Mark.
