There are some fantastic tattoo artists about.. i follow a few tattoo pages on fb just because i love the art these guys produce and the detail that goes into some of them just blows me away.
How about tattooing your name on your girlfriends face?

I saw that yesterday. Vile. In one image she looks like her face has been whipped. Such a pretty girl too.
Yeah look up..
Freshly inked magazine and The tattoo page on Facebook
Some totally overboard ones of course but also some amazing art on them too.
I'm on the waiting list for Louis Molloy 'the guy that did Beckhams guardian angel', it was 11 months when i joined it, 6 and a bit months to go.
And he's in Manchester and i'm in Wakefield. So dozens of studios in between us.
The way i look at it is, it's on your body for life, why not pay for / wait for / go to, the best you can find.
I haven't got any at the min, and i'm only planning on having one (though that might change lol), of my own design as i'm an artist myself, so i'll see any mistakes a 'half decent' local one would make that the average tattoo wearer probably wouldn't even notice, and that'd drive me mad every time i looked at it.
agree fully, i waited 12 months for mine on the waiting list and this is the finished article.

This is my local tatt shop. They have some cracking artists there! (Including my friend's better half) Usually if they have a waiting list, they ARE worth waiting for.
robert, that only applies to people getting tattoed with flash artwork that have little insight and real interest in the subject.
If you walk into a tattoo shop and pick something out of a book then yes you are often one of the people described above.
Here's a photo of my brother in laws leg - completely original concept thought of by himself and designed by his tattoist - it will never go out of fasion because it was never in fashion in the first place

And can I add that it's not an original concept either! A friend of mine who was killed about 20 years ago had something very similar (A dragon with faces etc. in the scales). I very much doubt that there are any truly original concepts left in any field.
That looks more like an illustration or body paint than a tattoo. Quite well done but it just doesn't look quite right - and the lack of a belly button gives it away too!

The black is far too black too - even fresh, tatts don't look that black.
History or do you need to keep clearing that???...
