Surely if you are testing the quality of the lens you should judge those images straight from the camera with no post processing? Am i missing something here? I know that all images could do with a bit of sharpening, but, when you are specifically looking at image quality from the lens, surely it should be as shot!
Am i right or wrong on that assumption.
I'd say you were right - if you read the comments someone asked the same thing, the reason given is because it's like focusing an enlarger in the darkroom
He also says that if a consumer lens get sharper stopped down then it's fine which ignores the whole front/back focus issue which can only be checked wide open.
