Yes. I had to bring the piece of moss indoors (it was raining at the time) during the transfer, I lost a few drops of water so did give it a bit of a top-up spray.
 
I had the same issue as you with the lack of rain and thought about doing a picture like yours, but you've done a far better job than I would have done!

Shots for Looking through are good, and I love the reflection shot framed by that brickwork.
 
Think the looking through shot is great, the chicken looks a bit concerned though :) , Like the reflection shot especially with the bit of colour
 
Great idea for your 'looking through' shot Dominic, I would have had some trouble choosing. I do like how you've got the chicken looking out at the camera.

Your reflections shot is spot on.
 
brilliant take on bird photography there Dominic looking through, the washer door looks like a lens!

The reflections look to have a drop of oil diffracted colours there which adds to the depth.
 
I like that a lot Dominic. The colours are lovely and the tight framing suits the subject.
 
Wk8-A vintage object

I went for a walk around Ironbridge on Sunday, as it's fairly local to me (about 30 minutes away). The sunny weather had brought the masses out and the bikers.
I came across this B reg (84-85) Yamaha RD350, a bike i used to crave when i was in my mid teens. I never bought one, as i went from a 125cc to a car.
I was planning to use the mono conversion, but i think i like the colour version better.

B reg, 1984 I think. I clearly remember when that plate was new!

I agree with your selection of the colour shot.
 
Definitely need the colour for the Yamaha colours to make the vintage. I remember the FS1E was the default choice for 16 year olds when I was at school in the ‘70’s with that same Yamaha style
 
Colour works best there and what a bike, a classic and vintage!
 
That's lovely! I really like the angle you chose to shoot from, and the colour/material of the tablecloth. The bubbles in the tea are a lovely touch.

The lighting is well controlled, though perhaps a little strong - the reflection on the teapot looks burnt out to me.

If you were inclined to reshoot, it might be worth re-arranging the items. I don't know it is would help, but perhaps: ditch the sugar bowl and teaspoon; use the handle of the teapot to lead in from a corner, and the spout to pull us on to a cup, then that handle to lead to the next cup, and in turn that handle to lead us back to the teapot. I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

But, all that said, I really like it. And I don't think it is a shoehorn at all. Teatime is certainly a perfect interpretation of time. The picture also conveys sitting down with someone and spending time with them - not a shoehorn.
