Ah right. I was thinking I'm sure I couldn't manage that with my 50mm

Juicy - very good take on the theme, absolutely oozing with juice.
Broad - another really good photo for the theme, I was wondering what it was and it makes for a really good effect.

Juicy is a nice shot with good colour. #2 for the broad shot like it.

Juicy, liking the up close view there Dominic, nicely done and great for the theme.
Broad, the movement makes for a much better picture there, takes away the harshness that the other pic has.

I seem to have too many to choose from this week, which is a bit unlike me (i normally only have about 2 to pick from), so it's not been an easy choice, but i've gone with this one.

The roller for me Dominic, I like the faded look to it also like the dof on the #2.

The abandoned roller with the old film processing look is a much better shot for me.

Great catch-up, Dominic! The rusty old roller covered in ivy is my pick for rustic and really meets the theme perfectly. The subdued tones work extremely well for the subject matter and theme, too.

Of your other recent shots, I really like the idea and impact of your colourful image for Broad, and deliberate motion to blur the boundaries works well for me

Both excellent .... tones and focus But of the two, that old roller wins.

The old Roller for me Dom, it really seems to tell a story. Liking the subtle vignette emphasising the subject too.

Simple maybe, but both work really well.
I was going to guess at a 50mm f1.8 before looking on flickr, that bokeh is quite distinctive.
I think #2 for me (just), I like the inclusion of the lamp.

Weather

So i've been away for the weekend with no camera, so i've had to use the phone camera.

Weather #1 is a great shot, goes well in mono. Like the reflections and a sharp shot, good to get the plane in too.

Love the low perspective in the first weather shot

#1 for me Dominic. I like the mono and the nod towards the Nikon competition fake
The reflections are very good, the puddle must have been perfectly still.

Love the reflections Dominic. B&W works well for this. Lovely bright colour in #2 but the first one for me I think Great finish to the 2017(n)

My catch-up comments for the last 3 weeks of 2017 (hoping to be quicker in 2018)

Wk 50 - Rustic - Great texture and detail on the roller, good colours and the muted and oof background frames the shape well.

Wk 51 - Festive - Of the two the rich red of the larger candle wins for me. Good oof lights make a nice background.

Wk 52 - Weather - Either of those fit the theme well but of the two the low level monochrome with reflections is my preference.
