Hi all,
My Norton subscription is nearly up and I was thinking of ditching it and using Avast.
How easy is removing Norton from win 10- is it just a case of pressing uninstall or is there more to it
Thanks

Seem to remember bits of it clung on like a leech, downloaded and used the Norton removal tool then CCleaner to mop up the leftovers.

So no Steve, unfortunately its not just a case of pressing uninstall

Just use the Norton cleanup tool, don't need any other third party app.

I used to use Norton and it became an immense hog to the point the PC was unusable

I as above used the Norton tool and does work but as noted also above is I used CCcleaner to mop up residues.

I normally advise against using third party tools to decide what system files and registry entries to remove (other than ones specifically provided for an app by the original vendor).

Unless you're installing and uninstalling crap ware on your machine just use the built in windows cleanup to scrub temp files. Less chance of that getting rid of something that is actually needed.

Thanks for the replies all- Neil where do I find the windows cleanup tool ? (win 10)
thanks
