Is any one going out tonight to see the northern lights between 10-2 am??

It's a pea souper outside here.

Oh that's a shame.
I hope it doesn't get cloudy here. It's clear ATM

Over here in Mansfield, it's cloudy, but not massively so. I'm keeping an eye on the sky and if it looks as though it's going to clear up a bit, then I'm going to tramp up a big hill and see what I can see.

The "expert" on Yahoo recommends high ISOs. Is this preferential to long exposures (ie: will long exposures make the aurora blur out into nothing of note)?

Yes, highest iso you can use for your camera without being too noisy.
Try to keep exposures less than 60 secs if poss.

Thanks for posting this. I may have a look out tonight.
Quite often i'll come home at midnight and be amazed by how clear the sky is.

I've just looked out the window, and as others have said...I can't see a single star right now :-(
Let's see what happens later. Look forward to seeing others' photos too if there's any sightings!

Hi no chance here very misty and raining :'(
