I’m staying in the area for a week and was wondering if there’s any particular place to go for owls. Preferably ghillie suit on, sit and wait kinda place. Many thanks in advance.

Are the Eurasian Eagle Owls still up there? That would be ideal.

You'll be on the Southern Edge of cropton forest which is likely to be pretty good.
There's a limestone escarpment just south of Stape and all along the base of that is an area of rough grazing and patchy woodland.
Cropton Forest is now into second generation so a good range of cleared and replanted areas.
Can't suggest anywhere specifically suitable for owls but through there has a lot of birds for example its a NightJar stronghold.
