Im going out in the morning to take some images of local birds etc but where would you say would be a good place to take them?

Im thinking risley woods in birchwood, but then again iv been there before, so Id like to go somewhere else.

Anyone?

Pennington flash is one of my faves, plenty of hides and free
Just make sure you put a ticket on your car in the car park think it's about 60p

O yeah good point, I never thought about there. Thanks =]

Pennington is really good but for getting close the hide at etherow park just outside Marple is pretty much unbeatable. There's loads of choice of water birds then the hide gets you within a few feet of tits, nuthatches etc and the woodpecker makes a brief appearance just about every morning.

It sounds like its going to be great then :) I love a chance at getting photos of birds, Iv got my eye on the Sigma 150-500mm at the moment, but thats yet a dream away haha. :'(

Towershot - there isn't a particular link of any note. Possibly look at the manchesterbirding.com page or just google etherow country park. Most of my bird shots on flickr, bar the parakeets, were taken there. Let me know if you want specifics.

Mike
