Later this month I will be spending a week in Essex, near Sudbury and hoping that I can get out to do some landscape photography a few times. I have seen that there is the Dedham Vale AONB, but are there any particularly good locations there?

It depends on what you like to photograph but it's Constable country so the landscapes are quite nice - Dedham and Flatford Mill are popular. Sudbury and Long Melford are also worth a look. There are various 'chocolate box' villages in the area so it's worth exploring places like Bures, Lavenham, Nayland, Finchingfield, Thaxted etc. If you like street photography, Colchester is worth a look. Overall, North Essex is quite attractive and you're are on the Suffolk border so there's plenty of options. The Suffolk coast has many photogenic places like Aldebrough, Dunwich, Southwold etc.

Thanks, hoping to get a morning or evening trip to Dedham, so will try to tag Flatford Mill too. Do they tend to work better morning or evening?

I'm back now and didn't really get much opportunity for photography. It is a nice part of the world and would like to go back someday.
