Myself & a friend have decided to go get some shots tomorrow.

We were planning on doing some outdoor stuff, but the weather is terrible, 30mph winds & rain / snow = no fun!

So, i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for indoor shoots in the Newcastle / Northumberland area?

No theme in particular, just anything with some good potential & a roof would be good!

I have heard the winter gardens in Sunderland are pretty good, not very big though, so would take long to walk it and get some maybe nice macro stuff.....can't really think of much else :|
 
Corbridge is lovely, river and roman wall to shoot. The river has lots of good areas to photograph. Also Haltwhistle has an interesting history.
 
river = outside, weather forcast is rubbish for tomorrow :(

Looking for things like churches, museums, abandoned buildings, tunnels / caves, that sort of thing?

Thanks for the info though, will check it out when it brightens up a bit!
 
Vindolanda at Bardon Mill on the Military, also have lunch at Twice Brewed Inn, there is also a small Information centre in same place.
 
Beamish museum, Central station, Discovery museum.
The Sage, the Baltic, plus lots of photo opportunities in that area if the weather clears. Woodhorn Colliery museum Ashington, Lynemouth close by. How about people pics at the sales at the Metro Centre.
Off to think of some more.........
 
The Gate complex, huge demolition site opposite.
 
Amble, In Newcastle City Center itself, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Hadrians Wall, Northumberland National Park

Have you done the Bowes Museum?...well worth a vist.

It's late, i'm tired lol.

Errrr Eldon Square, Metrocenter, Beamish Museum as said before although only the town part is open at the moment.

If it snows, i would want to be outside taking shots.
 
I dont mind snow, i do mind the high winds & rain that will be coming with it lol.

Thanks for the ideas, will check them out.

Was asking where you got to on the day but never mind here is my history.

Originaly from Wallsend, married and lived in Monkseaton, then Cramlington (ugh), back to Monkseaton, then finally just south of Alnwick in the middle of the countryside.

So where did you get to for your day out:)
 
Don't mean to butt in, I was in Alnwick the other day Galaxy! Small world.

Actually, with the snow, i decided to stay in, dont really like the cold, get enough of it when im at work.
 
A bit late I know, but you might bear it in mind for another rainy day. Durham cathedral, the rose window is stunning if you have the light right. :)
