would any of you be interested in turning up? are you members of clubs who would be interested?

if yes to any of these, could you either email me for more information at marlee2214@hotmail.com

or visit the museum forum where we post our images

Thanks
Scott

bump, could really do with some ideas please guys as were planning this for november 24th

Is this the one up at Newark?

Not tried it before but perhaps some lights in cockpits/ wheel wells might make things interesting.

you might want to consider selling hot drinks too.

how many people are you thinking?

I'd consider staying open till 10

what lights are built in around the planes?

are they inside or outside?

sounds like a laugh I'd pop along if I was closer

PSIFox, no, NEAM is located in sunderland, in the north east

David, we are hoping to get quite a few photographers in, we dont have anyone confirmed yet, we have 3 aircraft outside , the rest are in hangars which have overhead lighting, we have local re enactors who visit regularly and say the lighting is decent enough to shoot in
we may well extend the evening depending on how popular it is

Martin, got your email :)

I live within reasonable distance - and would be interested in coming. I would happily pay £4.

Would access inside the planes be possible?

Would be a great night if not a million photographers fighting over limited space.

I will keep an eye on this thread. Some indication that it is on or not would be good. Then I will confirm my attendance.

Hope thats okay?

John

Hi John, were going to try our best to prep the aircraft for access, i know of 4 which you can access without problems though :)

will confirm asap

*edit*
just spoke to the events organiser and he's going for the 25th as he believes camera clubs in the north east meet on a wednesday night? and the 28th would clash with a ghost hunt at the site

is that ok for everyone?

25th would be okay for me.

Hi John, glad the 25th is ok for you, can you think of anything you require to make the event successful?

God thats putting me on the spot!!

Just some space to move ( I am guessing planes are quite big!!) and somewhere to plonk a tripod. I am assuming you will be lighting the place up inside?

Access to a toilet and a coffee machine would be a plus!!

Otherwise (speaking for myself) I would just wing it ...I am sure some others may have things I have forgotten?

What time would you open/close?

Hope it comes off

John

Hi All, 25th is now confirmed as the event date,

toilet access and a coffee machine are available, as well as a shop with chocolate bars, cans of pop and crisps

oh and for all you budding modellers out there, we have a wide range of Airfix models too

Entry will be
£4 Adults

if anyone would like any more information in the run up to the event, feel free to email me marlee2214@hotmail.com and i will try my best to get you the answers you require

Re enactors will be on site for the photoshoot too, we hope this will improve the evening even more for you guys

the event starts around 4pm as it gets quite dark around 4-5 pm

Scott - that all sounds excellent. Appears to be well organised and well thought out ( reasonably priced too!)

I am looking forward to the evening.

Cheers

John

some excellent shots there :)

remember, we have the battle of the bulge event on the 12th & 13th December, a lot more re enactors will be there, having battles between alled and axis forces

Can I add my thanks to Scott and his colleagues for organising this event. Personally it was my first visit to the museum and the first time I had photographed an exhibition like this.

It was great to have the place to "ourselves". That meant a lot of photographers respect for walking "into shot" care being taken and I heard a lot of advice/tips etc being passed on.

On a practical point - it was a little dark in the hangars but the time of year didnt help!! I also felt a bit guilty for not taking the time to photograph the people who kindly prepared for the reanactment side of things (maybe next time?)

A suggestion maybe to do it in the Spring or early autumn next year when the nights are lighter. It would be nice to take photos of the outside planes as the sun was setting etc.

I hope that it was worth it to yourselves and you do it again next year.

Regards

John

I really should read the forums more often, I can walk there in 10 mins and didn't realise it was on! Would have loved to have come in.
