Hi there. Has anyone visited North Carolina and if so what places would they recommend for some stunning shots? I will be taking my camera with me when I go there in a couple of months but was just wondering if anyone here has already been?

I've only driven across it well inland and nothing memorable comes to mind or from my photos. But if the coast is anything like South Carolina, which it probably is, then there'll be lots of quaint and interesting coastal villages and towns. There's also the Wright brothers first plane flight place at Kittyhawk if that takes your fancy. If you do venture in to South Carolina then Charleston is a very likeable town.

North Carolina has more churches per square mile than anywhere else in the US. Besides that, there isn't much. I would recommend going West towards the mountains as there are some charming old mining towns, beautiful landscapes and derelict buildings.

Either go inland to the mountains or towards the coast. There isn't much in the middle to be honest.

As far as i know North Carolina gets a lot of visitors in the fall (autumn) when the large deciduous forest leaves change colour before finally dropping ... it's meant to be an awesome sight.
