Here goes, this will be an interesting challenge!!

Heres my first entry! For some strange reason I'm kind of nervous!

Taken in a lane not too far from our home.

I like the side light on the post, and the way the cables at the top hit the corners.

No need to be nervous, we (mostly) don't bite :D
There are certainly lots of lines and many different angles in that shot.
Nice exposure too, which can be an issue with blue skies (/me stares accusingly at his old 7D).

Well thats lots of lines even parallel lines and angles for sure.

I must admit to moving one or two of the cables so they would go into the corners of the image.

That was my first idea but your pole is a lot busier than mine, great.

Thank you guys, very much appreciated (y)

It's well done Jak, well seen and well composed. Suits the theme really well.

Rust and Decay

Taken in our local cemetery.

This was another option I had in mind.

Brake Disc.jpg

Agree with your choice, good viewpoint. Like the contrast between the shocks and the disc on the second

A different angle of the rusty brake disc might have been interesting, the red axle stands are a distraction unfortunately and I don't feel that we get the full texture and tone of the rust.

First image works though.

Two interesting shots. Either would do!

I think I would have gone with the second of your shots.
The counterpoint of the rust disk vs the new shock and stand really jumps out.
Where of earth was this parked? in a river?

It’s parked outside a small car repair business near to me. It looks like it’s being used as a spare parts bank!

Two nice shots there Jak, first one for me though!

I think that you chose the right image Jak, with the double meaning of a cemeteries being places of decay...

And whilst I was out on my bicycle this morning I came upon this...

Rusty Gate.jpg

Which I quite like. This would have qualified for Lines and Angles too.

The low angle works nicely, and I like the way the 'subject' divides the frame.

My windows and doors submission, or not!!

Doors and Windows.jpg

As someone who is planning an "off the wall" interpretation to the theme, I welcome stretching the dictionary definitions of Doors and Windows. Without such licence, I think the thread might become rather dull.

I like your image very much - always a sucker for punchy B&W. I might have been tempted to make more of the interesting window to the right of the frame, and less of the van to the left.

Good work!

Thanks Paul, it did have windows and a door at one stage. It used to be out Threshers off licence. I also didn't want to just post a boring predictable image of D&W's ;)

Attempt 2...
