I'm fairly sure the worlds out to get me right now. I've been waiting on batterys etc and the battery charger and spare battery's FINALLY turned up so I put the cf card adaptor in with the two micro SD cards in and it came up CF error. I tried to format them and it said error 99 so it obviously can't see the micro sd's in the cf card. I've brought 2 8GB CF cards now just waiting until next Tuesday at the latest for them to turn up.

For lens I currently have

Canon 28-80mm with AF (my walking around lens at the moment)

Pentax-K 28-80mm (Macro at 80mm)

Hanimex 75-200mm

Hanimex 75-300mm

8mm F1.4 IR CCTV Lens

58MM Macro lens (goes onto the canon lens)

CCTV 25mm F1.2 (waiting on delivery)

adapter's wise I've got

C - Eos
AI-Eos
T2-EF
M42-Eos
PK-EF
C/Y-Eos (waiting delivery)

I'm planning on picking up a 50mm when my bank account stops screaming.

I've got a tripod, I've got 3 battery's and the battery grip so it can run on AA's if the battery's run out and some graduated ND lens and holder etc

so I'm just literally waiting on the cf cards now.

I've also brought about 5 books on the camera and taking pictures instead as I'm hoping to do most of the pictures on manual now if I can just find a way to get my brain to understand the iso triangle thing I'll hopefully be golden.

It's at this point some one says 'OI you've forgotten you need to get this'

seriously though any more advice would be great as you've all been amazing

Hi Antony,

I see from your sig that you have the now very old 350D, that was my first venture into dSLR

Re the usage of CF adaptor, AFAIK not all bodies will recognise such a device let alone one that has more than one SD card in it (I have never seen one that takes two SD, so how does the adaptor configure the two cards???) so IMO no surprise that the 350D did not take kindly to it!!!

Not sure but I think the max capacity card you can use in a 350D is 8GB............................but have yet to find the official spec that mentions that limit???

I've been told and the manual states that it will format up to an 8gb. Various places online state that it will use a larger card (i.e.. Micro SD) if its formatted on a PC first.

BOUGHT! not BROUGHT! Aside from that, I do hope you get sorted soon and can get taking photos. There’s nothing more frustrating than having to wait for stuff.

Its been a long day so you can blame that typo on my codeine (painkillers for the impingement in my shoulder).

It’s nothing personal, it’s just whenever I see it I start foaming at the mouth. I don’t know why it bothers me so much, but I just can’t get over it.

I do overlook it if it’s written by someone from the Midlands however

they can’t help it.

I'm living in cumbria so not the Midlands but at least its not down south,

Also the shoulder won't get any better unfortunately not until the surgery which is why I've gotten into Photography being unable to work is driving me insane (I'm right handed take a wild guess which arm is screwed right now)
