Noob Looking for first Camera.

Hi All,

I hope you can help. I'm looking for my first SLR camera. Finally going to take the plunge and get myself one. As a beginner (only used to taking snaps of family etc) I was looking for some pointers on the camera to get. I had a look at pc pro A list and they had the Sony A200 on it recently but to be honest I dont know if that would be the best for that budget (200-300 quid)
Any pointers or recomendations would be appreciated.

i have the a300, which is almost identical apart from it having live view - on screen lcd shooting like a compact camera, which has it uses.

many happy a200 owners here.
 
Hi and welcome.

The "best" is the one that is most intuitive for you to hold and use that fits in your budget.

Ignore the brands for the moment and go play with several different bodies and let us know what you think.
There are several package options around but it really does depend on what you feel comfortable holding.
 
i agree with Mark. i choose a sony because of the deal at the time, and have always used sony due to my past job but i have since played with friends Canon and Nikons and it really is whatever floats you boat.
i also recommend you to go play with a few, if you friends or family have DSLR then thats where to start.
