Noob cs3 question

I've had cs3 for donkeys now and used to use it a lot for converting RAW's. However, when I got my 7d I just stuck with canon DPP.

Now I have gone into cs3 to do a bit of editing to a picture and a basic (or what seems basic) thing is really frustrating mem big time.

The cursor is always set to the hand. No matter what I click I can not change it. I cant even change it to the crop tool or text tool.

It's really furstrating. Can someone please help!

EDIT! IT HAS DONE IT ALL BY ITSELF.... When I went back to PS after typing this message it just worked. How odd!

if it happens again just hit the space bar then you should be ok

thanks - space bar is the key. Will remember that! It was so frustrating, and a little embarrasing admit I couldnt sort it. Ah well.
