If anyone has the time and inclination then I'd really appreciate some feedback on this website I've made for my wife: Outstanding Teaching Services
I'm relatively new to designing things, so any hints/tips would be appreciated. And if you know any teachers who could check it out then all the better!

Thanks

Hi Tim

One thing I would say is the external links at the bottom pengbos and solucija, should open new windows then your readers dont leave your site

I'll have a proper look later

You don't have a logo, just a small heading of 'Outstanding Teaching Services'

There are no references or quotes from schools or teachers you have worked with.

Apart from the photos the whole site is in black and white. The photos also aren't the most inspiring, the website is about improving teaching, so get photos of teachers with kids working in a group, working outside on the field etc. Avoid the cliche of a teacher in front of the whiteboard and all the kids with their hands up.

Your resources aren't resources. A resource is something you will use, not just an idea. Resources are generally something you can download to use in your classroom. With your resources & strategies, it might help to add some fields for each resource so users can search for strategies or filter resources for their keystage or subject.

btw APP is being dropped (the Conservatives are leaving it in place, but not doing anything with it and it will become useless when the new curriculum is released in 2013)

Think about adding moderation to your list of things for staff training, its a big thing with the schools I work with (KS1 & 2 and SEN).

The tabs could be clearer. the tabs (about ect) need to be clearer , maybe choose a different font. the rest is looking good, i would check it on a 15.4 screen for how it fits on the screen. otherwise keep up the good work and well done.

Cheers Steve

I like the site, although I'm not sure the design suits your business.

Having a nice site is great, but traffic and conversion is THE important thing. I see no address and no phone number. This makes you look faceless.

Put a phone number at the top right, for those that want to call without trawling the site.

Thank you all so much for the feedback (sorry its taken a while to reply, I read them straight away).
I'll try to take on board everyone's comments and action them one at a time. The 'faceless' remark from CJ is something I'd never considered but now you mention it it is really obvious - I guess that's why you're the pro!
