Why after levels and processing is my jpeg from a raw file looking noisy and not nice and sharp ? even an unsharpened jpeg shouldn't look bad enough for the recycle bin anyone know where i'm going wrong thanks.
 
how extreme was the processing in raw? are you adjusting the exposure a great deal, hue/saturation/luminocity etc. i find the more you adjust all these in a raw file the noisier the image gets.
 
used auto levels in elements 8 and brought the dark shadows right UP, do you think this could have been too much ? trouble is it saves a lot dsarker than in elements on screen for some reason, thanks for replying james, it's the last photo in my flickr if you can have a look thanks.

i fully agree.......if u push too far the image becomes very noisey
hdr does it.....if your agressive, it not as noticable on a pc srceen but when printed big it is.
you can allways try noise reduction software like imagenomic noiseware pro, ,y fave of whats available
