Noise reduction & sharpening.

I don't really have much of a clue about NR & Sharpening.

Can anyone help with these 2 images from my son's school rugby game this afternoon.

Taken with 1D MK III and original 300/2.8.

To me they look pretty noisy and not very sharp at all.

This one I would crop quite heavily

I have just started with LR3 but if anyone could explain their processes (in either LR, PS or PSE) and the amounts I would greatly appreciate it.

On my screen sharpness looks spot on!

Certainly sharper than my football images

sharpnes looks good, maybe a tad more in p&p and adjust the levels. one thing i did notice is the noise on the claret shirts supprises me for iso 1250,

Sharpness on the original images looks good to me.

scottthehat - your edited version is excellent. Looking at the original images, I have other ideas on how to process and edit them, but yours is outstanding
